We're getting married!

We met through a mutual friend playing kickball in Richmond, VA. Darren and his friends were putting together a team for a summer kickball league, and one of his friends is a friend of Daniela’s from work, Carleigh (shoutout!). The team needed more girls, so Carleigh asked Daniela if she wanted to join and Daniela said yes. Darren was the pitcher and Daniela was by far the worst player on the team (which, to anyone who knows Daniela, is not surprising). Neither of those things changed all season. One Friday night, the team got together and went to happy hour at the VMFA (iykyk) where Daniela and Darren spent the whole night out talking to each other. They hung out several more times over that weekend and the following weeks and the rest is history! Darren proposed on March 4, 2022 after almost one year after they had moved to Indianapolis. They had just bought their first home and Darren suggested they go to a nice dinner to celebrate before going over to Carleigh’s house for a bonfire. After getting home from dinner to pick up their puppy Ricky to take to the bonfire, Darren popped the question in front of their new home, to which Daniela replied “of course!”. When they arrived at Carleigh’s house they were greeted with congratulations by they all of their closest friends in Indy. When Daniela went to the kitchen to get a drink, she was surprised to find that Darren had arranged for her family and some of her best friends from home to fly to Indy to celebrate with them!
