The Hindu wedding traditions are based on the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of the Hindus, dating back over 4000 years. The hymns, composed in Sanskrit, spiritually unite the bride and groom and their souls.
There is a plenty of parking at the Lounsbury House. As soon as you enter, you will see the parking lot.
We recommend that you arrive at 3 p.m. for the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!
The ceremony will take place outside, in the garden area. We have a tent so that you will be covered. The cocktail reception will occur on the wrap around porch and indoors. The dinner and dancing will be indoors. We made sure to have all events in one place so that you don't have to drive around to different locations.
The dress code for our wedding is Indian attire or Black Tie. For women trying to find Indian attire (Lehenga Choli or Salwar Sameez/Suit - direct message me and I will assist you with links to purchase online.
After the ceremony, the bride/groom and immediate family will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. Guests can head straight to the reception where we will be serving hors d'oeuvres from Ridgefield Prime, drinks and music.
As a guest to an Indian wedding, you are encouraged to wear colorful clothes. The only color you should avoid is red, since the bride would be wearing red in one of the main events.
To ensure there is a minimal possible transmission of COVID at the event, attendees are asked to adhere to the following guidelines: Test for COVID-19 before coming to the wedding. Please stay home if A) You test positive, or B) aren't feeling well or displaying symptoms. Testing and vaccination (including boosters) are our best line of defense. In addition, we will provide masks to allow participants to feel comfortable and safe.
