Our ceremony and the attire you will see are all indo-western in nature. We are including both western and Indian traditions and decor in our ceremony to reflect both of our backgrounds. Western wedding traditions in the ceremony include the incorporation of a bridal party, the father-daughter walk down the aisle, and the exchange of vows and a kiss. Indian wedding traditions include the use of a mandap as an alter, the accompaniment of the bride’s uncles and male cousins to the mandap, a series of unity ceremonies, the exchange of leis, and the saptapadi, the first seven steps together as husband and wife.
Our entire weekend is meant to be a hybrid celebration that represents the union of our cultures. No special attire is required for any of our pre-wedding events. Indian wedding attire and semi-formal western wedding attire welcome on the big day!
