Wedding Party

Ryan Gandy

Best Man

Ryan and I met as freshmen at Messiah when we were put in the same quad, and nothing was the same after that. He inspired me to take myself less seriously and find joy in the small things, and he’s been the source of many of my heartiest laughs. He’s someone you always want to have around, and I’m envious of his mustache growing abilities.

Leah Vermeulen

Maid of Honor

My beautiful sister! Leah is the funniest person I know, and is undeniably cooler than I’ll ever be. She fills life with joy, silliness, and adventures ranging from thrifting (she’s pretty much a pro), to Wawa (a few times a week), to dance parties in the car or kitchen (queue Taylor Swift or Harry Styles). She’s a great listener and always makes me feel heard, understood, and loved exactly the way I am. My life is so much better because Leah is in it.

Justus Danielsen

Groomsman

When I met Justus at Messiah, we immediately had a connection due to both being missionary kids. The connection grew through the years, and time spent with him has always led me to be a better man. He’s a Renaissance man with ten times as many talents as I’ll ever have, but he’s also a very supportive friend who knows what’s truly important in life.

Marissa Donlevie

Bridesmaid

Marissa is exactly the kind of friend I hoped I’d meet in college. Bubbly, adventurous, intentional, and really lives out Jesus’s love. Our friendship began freshman year at Messiah through late-night conversations in The Cove, and it grew from there as she turned me into a tea-lover, took me to my first ever Rend Collective concert, and co-founded Soup Sunday with me – forever our greatest legacy.

Tre Engle

Groomsman

I was friends with Tre before I even met him, because I met his brother Levi at a pancake social thinking he was Tre. Upon actually meeting we found out we had the same interests, same sense of humor, and same appearance, earning us the title “The Spaghetti Twins”. Since then there’s no one I’ve made more memories with, and he’s truly been like a brother to me. I admire his generous nature and willingness to stand up for what he believes in.

Laura Haugen

Bridesmaid

My sister-to-be! Laura is a beautiful representation of what it looks like to live with the joy of the Lord – she is kind, welcoming, loving, and known for her smile. When she’s around, you can’t help but smile with her! Daniel has said many times that she’s the perfect older sister, and I am very excited to have her as my sister, too.

Spencer McCrory

Groomsman

I had the good fortune of living next to Spencer freshman year, and I quickly discovered that he was someone I could always count on and have a great time with. Throughout the years I’ve admired his perfect balance of spiritual maturity and goofiness, and he also makes a great grilled cheese sandwich, so there’s that.

Erin Hockman

Bridesmaid

In working at the Mission, I think God knew I would need a friend to walk through the joys and struggles of ministry together, so God gave me Erin. We quickly became a duo (as our “Tech Twins” mugs attest), and we bonded over our love of coffee, tacos, and buying more books we don’t need. Erin is loyal, cares deeply, and is someone I can be myself around. She makes every day brighter!

Jarod Picola

Groomsman

Jarod is a guy who knows what’s up. He’s been a loyal friend since the early days, and there’s no one I’d rather cruise around town in a Buick with. Along with being an honest, hard-working man, he knows how to hang loose and strike up a stimulating conversation. There’s also no one I’d trust more to grill my hot dog over a campfire.

Hannah Wells

Bridesmaid

Hannah and I became friends as fellow English majors at Messiah. Over the years we have shared many laughs and dreams about the excitement of the future. Hannah is a talented writer, enthusiastic hype-woman, and the most genuine encourager I know. She truly knows how to make people feel loved. (And she also performs the best interpretive dance to “Mary Did You Know?” that I’ve ever seen).

Abbie Zoebisch

Honorary European Bridesmaid

I met Abbie (also known as A-bee) during our freshman year at Messiah, and she quickly became a close friend. She’s someone you instantly feel comfortable with and want to have around – and she’s also the best adventure buddy for traveling to local coffee shops to taste-test all the baked oatmeal recipes. Abbie is an incredibly talented artist and is currently living her best life teaching art classes in Italy! We really miss her, but she’s here in spirit!
