Daniel and I met at Messiah College when our friend groups merged and became friends. My first memory of Daniel was talking with him as we walked back to our dorm buildings from a school show we had both seen. I was interested in hearing more about his story: a missionary kid born in Peru was exciting to a girl who had lived her whole life in New Jersey! I wanted to be friends with him, and as our friends all got to know each other better, so did we. When Daniel first expressed interest in dating, I wasn’t ready for a relationship just yet, but I spent the next few months praying about it (and maybe panicking just a little, too). We continued spending time together with our friends, and we had some great conversations about life and faith. And in those months, I realized two things: I really enjoyed being around Daniel and I wanted to get to know him better; and talking to him and seeing his character made me want to know Jesus more. That was really important to me, and I felt God nudging my heart toward him. So we went on our first date…and 4.5 years later, we’re getting married! Over time, the more I’ve gotten to know Daniel, the more I’ve found to love about him. He is humble and kind, thoughtful and caring, calm and patient, musical, funny, intelligent, a great listener and conversationalist, and most importantly, loves the Lord. What a blessing to be able to find more things to love about Daniel forever 😊
The first time I met Natalie was shortly into college when she came to my room to have our friend Gavin re-string her guitar. While we had a few casual conversations throughout freshman year, it wasn’t until the next year that our friend groups merged and we started getting to know each other. I quickly discovered that Natalie was someone who I craved being around and who ticked all the boxes I was looking for. I began thinking she might have a thing for me, so I asked her to go out with me spring of sophomore year. Although I wasn’t successful at first, a few months later she let me take her on a date to the Millworks and the Midtown Scholar, and our lives changed forever. We’ve gone on crazy adventures, discovered new interests, played countless hours of caroms, and gotten to know each other inside and out. Along with being my best friend, she's been a role model on how to live life well and care genuinely about others. She's exceptionally bright, lovely, and fun, and she's the best life partner I could ask for. These four and a half years together have been the best of my life, and I’m so excited to spend the rest of my days with someone who understands and loves me so completely.
