Our Love Story

We thank God every day for bringing us together, an easy-going Colorado boy and a spicy Kansas girl. July 2019 Lily moved to Murfreesboro (Nashville suburb) to start her first job as the Community Wellness Manager at Lifestyle Communities apartment complex. Daniel spotted this new girl at his apartment complex when he was eating dinner on his patio. He looked down to see Lily weaving between two cars crossing the street. Her head was down, and she looked determined. It wasn’t a week later that Daniel was walking back from the mailroom to look up and see Lily walking in his direction. She immediately switched sides of the sidewalk and breezed past him. The first time Daniel got a solid look at her was when she was getting ready to presumably meet some gym clients in the yoga room. He was finishing up some stretching when he noticed her reviewing notes on her clipboard, again with her head down looking determined. Daniel walked out apologizing, thinking she was waiting for him to leave before entering the room, but she said something impassive like “no worries." In Lily’s mind, the first time she saw Daniel was after a few weeks into her job. A man walked into the gym while she was on the phone with some girlfriends and she said “Wait I have to go, the hottest guy just walked into the gym." Well that hottest guy was Daniel! The young strangers made small talk during Daniel's frequent trips to the gym. He thought she was pleasant and very beautiful, but way out of his league. That is why he was a little thrown off to have received an Instagram request from a Lily Farha in the subsequent days. He couldn’t remember sharing his last name with her, so this was a bit strange. Despite the stalker-like Instagram request, a few weeks later Daniel asked Lily if she gets stressed out with work. She looked at him funny and said “Well no, I work at a gym it's a very easy job." Daniel laughed and said “Oh I was going to say we should grab a drink after work if you were stressed.” Lily, quick on her feet, said back “I don’t need to be stressed to grab a drink with you!" Later that week, they went to Bar Louie and had their first drinks together and chatted for hours. The next few months they went on various dates, the most memorable date was their first Brew Fest together. They quickly started to realize this was a special relationship. Lily later moved to Nashville, 35 minutes away from Daniel in Murfreesboro. He was a little bummed that she was so far away but the memories made at her West End apartment were really what started to make them fall in love. They had so many fun parties and eventful evenings that ended back at that apartment. Their journey continued with building lifelong friendships, making memories traveling together, watching live music, eating tacos, drinking beers, playing chess and more. In July 2023 Lily and Daniel decided to get their first apartment together in Germantown (area of downtown Nashville). They started to learn the little details about each other that make them who they are. A few months later after 3.5 years of hard work, Daniel completed his degree. After that he was ready to make the best decision of his life. On February 3, 2024 he took Lily to Chattanooga, the city where they had their first trip just the two of them in August 2020. He proposed by the river, an intimate moment between them. Since then they have enjoyed their time being engaged, falling in love with each other a little more everyday. We want to thank our parents Joan and David Farha, and Katherine and Gary Mordecai. They are beautiful examples of what a marriage should be and they taught us how to love unconditionally. We wouldn’t be who we are today if it were not for our outstanding parents.
