Waimea Plantation Cottages

Waimea is a small town tucked away on the west side of Kauai. Our venue, the Waimea Plantation and Cottages, in Waimea Kauai is a gorgeous ocean front venue as well as place to stay! We highly recommend booking a cottage for your trip to Kauai for our wedding weekend! The cottages are on the venue property and are steps away from a beautiful black sand beach, as well as steps away from our actual wedding! Your closest stay outside of the cottages is going to be about 30 minutes away give or take traffic. By staying on the property you’ll be able to enjoy the wedding weekend with us without ever having to leave the venue! The cottages range anywhere from 1-5 bedrooms and you can book them through external sites as well as through there main website. Unfortunately the plantation does not do room blocks, so it is all first come first serve. We recommend booking the cottage first, due to a limited amount of them on the property available. There is a map of the cottages and venue area uploaded in our gallery for reference as to where you will be able to stay!

Due to our venue being in a more remote location on Kauai, there are very limited options for hotels and rentals in Waimea besides the Plantation Cottages. We have listed some other hotels that we love, in order of distance to the venue to help you choose which best for you! Please note that the closest hotels and rentals will be at a minimum 30 minutes away from the venue. Check out deals on external sites like hotels.com, Travelocity, Expedia etc for specials and deals on some of these places!

Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu, Autograph Collection

Koloa Landing is another GORGEOUS resort on Kauai that is located 30 minutes from our venue, about 18 miles. It offers beaches, restaurants, views and one of the best pools on the island. It’s luxury at a slightly more affordable cost!

Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club

The Marriott’s Waiohai Beach Club is another hotel located 31 minutes, 19 miles from our venue. It is an affordable beach front hotel with beautiful rooms and views, and it won’t cost you an arm and a leg to stay!

Sheraton Kauai Resort

The Sheraton is another beautiful beachfront hotel about 33 minutes, 19 miles away from our venue. The cost is slightly pricier, but worth it for the views, rooms and pools.

Hilton Vacation Club The Point at Poipu Kauai

This Hilton Hotel is located 34 minutes, 20 miles away from our venue and is another great and reasonably priced hotel where you can enjoy a beachfront views and a gorgeous pool!

Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa

If you’re looking for a luxury stay outside of our venue, the Grand Hyatt is definitely the way to go! It will cost you a pretty penny but the views are endless and the pools are to die for. They have a salt water lagoon and plenty of restaurants to choose from! This resort is about 35 minutes away from our venue with no traffic.

The Royal Sonesta Kaua'i Resort Lihue

This hotel is a little further from the venue, 45 minutes, about 25 miles away in Lihue. This hotel has a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel, as it is only a few minutes away. It has a beautiful pool and is walking distance to Kalapki Beach and a number of restaurants including our favorite restaurant, Dukes!

Hilton Garden Inn Kauai Wailua Bay

We have stayed at this hotel many times, and we always go back for a reason. It is not only affordable, but it also has great views steps from Lydgate Beach as well as the Wailua River. The hotel has 3 pools and multiple hotel bars, as well as a fun grass area with tons of outdoor games! This hotel is 50 minutes, about 30 miles, from the venue.

Kauai Shores Hotel

This hotel may not have all the frills but if you’re looking for a great deal this is your place. This hotel is next to coconut market place. This marketplace includes tons of shops and restaurants including lava lava and bushido sushi, two of our favorite spots to eat. This hotel is about 55 minutes away from our venue. Although the pool is smaller, if you’re looking for something simple and inexpensive, this is your place!

House and Condo Rentals

Renting a house or condo is a great option that can be cheaper than a hotel, if booked at the right time! Some places to book your home rental include air bnb and vrbo. We recommend checking out rentals in Poipu, Koloa. This is going to be the closest town to our venue that will have rentals available. Rental Cars

There’s plenty of websites you can book a rental car through on the island! The rental car pickup will be at the airport, or you can take an airport shuttle to your car just a few minutes away. We recommend booking a car as soon as possible due to a limited availability of them! There is VERY limited taxi service and there is no Uber or LYFT.

Flights

If you are flying from the mainland to Kauai, we recommend booking a flight 6-8 months in advance for more affordable pricing. Our favorite airline is Hawaiian Airlines, however there are plenty of airlines to choose from, especially if you are flying out of LAX. We also recommend downloading the hopper app and setting up flight notifications so that you can be notified of the most affordable time to book your flight!
