It's About Damn Time!

We both met by luck in college while registering for classes. Daniel heard my phone go off while waiting in line and broke the ice by asking, "You get WIFI in here?!" He went in before me and I after and thought we had parted our ways until I walked out, turned the corner, and Daniel was there waiting for me on the steps! We walked to the train and talked the whole way getting to know each other and found out we had so much in common that it felt I knew him my whole life. I was going one way, he the opposite, and last minute asked for my number. The trains from both directions came at the same time and were so loud that he couldn't quite make out the last 4 digits of my number and took a guess and got lucky. They say everything happens for a reason, and I am forever thankful it did.

Daniel and I had booked a 2 week long cruise a couple years in advance. By this point Daniel and I will have been together about 5 years, after that long, I kind of got carried away at hinting for a ring. We browsed for rings twice and the 2nd time around I found a ring that I absolutely loved, but would settle for one similar to it. At this point Daniel now has an idea of what I like. Fast forward, we are now just over half way through this cruise and I accepted the fact that there's no way he would propose on this trip as that would be too obvious. Fast forward again to the day we docked in Barbados. Daniel was up early getting ready and making himself look nice, while I was being a crab ass from not sleeping well. We arrive at the most beautiful, white sandy beach with clear blue waters and had an amazing time. Before we headed back to the ship, Daniel suggested we go take pictures of us at this beach. He got up and went ahead of me and found someone to take our picture. I catch up and he has us face the camera, then had us turned facing the water, lastly had me turn completely to the side with my back facing him which felt weird but went along with it. Seconds later he tells me to turn around and there he was, down on one knee with the ring I had picked out gleaming in the light. I became speechless and couldn't speak and just started to cry happily and nodded YES! He went above and beyond and even skyped my step father who lives in Dubai for his blessing, called my dad for his blessing and hung out with my mom for an entire day. This man did everything right and is my absolute soulmate, and I can't wait to marry him!
