Welcome Friends and Family Cocktails will be an un-hosted event for all to come and meet each other, and for the bride and groom to spend extra time with the people they love. It will be held at Edgefield Winery in Troutdale, Or at 8:00pm. The wedding will be held at the Hooper Hill Guest House located at 912 Belle Center Rd., Washougal, WA (https://goo.gl/maps/WVEbPLX6tMr). The ceremony starts at 4:00pm, so please arrive a little early to be seated. Both the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors. We are all a little weird and life's a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love. - Dr Sues Shawn and Danica met in Black Rock City. It was 2012, Danica's first Burn, Shawn's second. They met a lot of people that year, some were friends that'd become like family, others were strangers they got to know for just moments in time. Their relationship started somewhere between the two. They wouldn't talk much between 2012 and 2013 but when Shawn camped with another group the next year, Rumpus felt a little bit emptier. It was that winter Danica moved to Portland. And on June 6th, 2014 Danica told Shawn she loved him. Shawn turned to her and said, "Well I guess I should ask you out already". They took to making the public at large vomit. Two years later Shawn bought a ring. After showing everyone the ring, he made his plan. He'd send her on an art scavenger hunt around Black Rock City. The last clue would lead her to a spot surrounded by their campmates, Shawn on one knee, ring in hand. Instead he got too excited on the second night. When they were alone together, they started talking about how much they cared for each other. They talked about their hopes and dreams for each other. Then Shawn got that look in his eye that he gets whenever he's sparked an idea, jumped for his bags and started fumbling around. He pulled out a box covered in duct tape, tearing at it like a Danica with a present on Christmas morning. A second box was produced, a much nicer box than the first. Shawn started telling Danica again, all about his love for her, before opening the box, and asking the question. She said yes, he placed the ring on her finger. Champagne flowed in the morning.
