Cynthia and Brad met in the Spring of 7th grade! Despite the fact that each of them were at the peak of their "awkward phase" they were still drawn to one another. On the day they met, a group of friends had plans to spend time at the beach that evening. Brad and Cynthia found themselves sitting together on a rock at the edge of Lake Erie talking for hours. As they entered into summer break, their long conversations when hanging out with friends continued until it was finally the 4th of July. They decided to make this a day they would always remember and became each other's first kiss! #FirstKissLastKiss As middle school romances go, they found themselves going their separate ways in high school, however, always remained close friends. Even though their lives took them in different directions, their paths always crossed. Finally, in 2018 (18 years after meeting!) they decided it was time to re-kindle their middle school romance -- both confidently knowing there would be no looking back!

As Brad and Cynthia decided to make the amazing city of Charleston their long-term home, they were beyond excited to close on their new house. Amidst the chaos of planning a move and changing jobs, somehow Brad also found the time to design a beautiful engagement ring and plan a proposal. Over the same weekend they closed on their house, Brad asked Cynthia to take a walk with him on Pitt Street Bridge to enjoy the views of their new city. Although it was a VERY cold morning, Cynthia immediately forgot about that as she saw Brad get down on one knee and ask her to marry him!
