Salida, CO is a charming mountain town nestled in the Arkansas river valley surrounded by 14k foot peaks, ski resorts, hot springs, and beautiful scenery as far as the eye can see.
Out-of-state guests have the option of flying into either Denver International Airport (3 hours from Salida by car), or Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (1 hour 15 minutes). Salida is also part of Colorado's Bustang bus network with daily service to downtown Denver.
There are a several Hotels/Motels in Salida. We have reserved a block of rooms at the Amigo Motor Lodge (details below). There are also countless Airbnb/Vacation Rentals in the area.
October weather in Colorado's mountains is unpredictable and an early season snow storm is not out of the question. Plan accordingly when making travel arrangements and be sure to be aware of seasonal road closures.
