Maid of Honor
Leslie and I met when we were both brand new to Cleveland and had just moved into the same building to begin our master degrees in bioethics. Let's just say we have been inseparable since. We have traveled the world together, tasted countless bourbons, cooked hundreds of meals together, and become each other's family. I cannot imagine my wedding day without her!
Best Man
We met as early as kindergarten, but became close friends during first grade over a game of make-believe Pokémon at recess. Later to college roommates we have grown up to be practically brothers (he as the younger one!). Couldn’t imagine my day without my brother!
Bridesmaid
I met Bianca on my very first day of college as I moved into the dorm. She started out as my mentor, but our relationship quickly evolved into a beautiful friendship. Bianca is a fiercely independent, strong-willed woman who goes out into the world and really lives. Just ask her all of the countries she has traveled too, trust me you will be jealous!
Groomsman
Barat and I met the first day of medical school, along with Jacob. Barat sat next to me and Jacob behind us. Keeping each other honest while studying and having endless conversations about sports, coffee, and life. Barat was always the one that made sure I knew where I was supposed to be and when. He will make sure I am at the wedding on time, looking just as dapper as he always does.
Bridesmaid
Who knows when exactly I met Sarah, we were in that awkward middle school phase and we were both orchestra nerds playing the odd instruments (viola and oboe), so of course we became fast friends. We went on countless bands trips, though I think we can both agree that Disneyland is our favorite. We have been through everything together, and thank goodness we made it through that awkward braces and polo phase of middle school!
Groomsman
Jacob, Barat, and I were first day medical school buddies, which if you know anything about medical school, translates to friends for life. You can find Jacob and I sparring about the team to root for in Ohio (he would argue it is the Reds). I could not ask for a better person to have by my side!
Bridesmaid
Leah and I were both relatively new to the Department of Bioethics and still figuring everything out, so we became each other's lunch buddy, tech support, and our friendship grew from there. We both discovered that we love baking and while I am not nearly as skilled as decorating cakes as Leah, we sure do have a fun time talking about our most recent creations or what we want to attempt!
Groomsman
Stefan and I were high school pals that roamed in the same nerdy science loving group. Over years we stayed close over board games, video games, parties, and get togethers when we were in the same city. Luckily the wedding is in the same city too!
Flower Boy
Finn is Daniel's nephew, but Kait has known Finn since he was just a few months old. In fact, one of Daniel and Kait's first hangouts was celebrating his birth! When we asked Finn if he would like to be a part of the wedding, he said only if you could look like both Uncle Daniel and Aunt Kait, so you will just have to wait and see what that looks like (hint: there is a tutu involved).
Ring Bearer
Roy McRae joined the family in October, and we could not be happier. He will be escorted down the aisle by his dad, Cliff McRae, and they will both be our ring security, so don't mess with them! Roy is not afraid to throw a punch!
Officiant
Kevin is Kait's Uncle, or at least that is the easiest way to explain their relationship. He married her cousin Candace, but both have played a very significant role in her life. Since she was a baby she loved spending time with Kevin and would always follow him around. As she grew older, every summer they would have least one Kait/Kevin day at a theme park in California. Those are some of her favorite memories. Kevin has always been there for her, so it made sense that Kait and Daniel would ask for him to marry them on this momentous occasion. I am sure there will be some laughs, and maybe even a few tears.
Officiant
Goose, who is Daniel's grandmother, received her nickname from Daniel's oldest sister when she was just learning to talk and the nickname stuck. Goose has always played a significant role in Daniel's life and so it made sense that she became a major part of Kait's as well. They all spent many hours talking, sipping on wine, and laughing together these past five years, and so there was no better person we wanted to have marry us alongside Kevin, then Goose. Unfortunately, Goose passed away in July of 2022, but we know that she will be with us in spirit, guiding us through this special day.
