Old - Courtney's bouquet will have an attached locket housing the gems from her paternal grandmother's wedding ring, and she'll will be wearing a ring of her maternal grandmothers on her right hand (which she wears every day!) New - Courtney's wedding dress was customized to her liking with the help of a J. Andrew's bridal consultant, and she has the pencil sketches of this dream dress in the making! Borrowed - Courtney is wearing her bridesmaid Hayden's veil that she wore for her own wedding 3 years ago. Blue - Courtney's dress has the words "Love, Dad" stitched in blue thread into the lining of her dress, copying his handwriting taken from her 30th birthday card.
Since Courtney's father will not be present on her wedding day, she's chosen to mark his place with his favorite summer hat. Anyone that knew Randy would readily associate him with his Panama Jack-style hats in the summer, and Stetsons in the winter. Courtney will see that hat and know that even though her dad couldn't be there, his place is not forgotten.
The couple have elected to recite traditional vows in front of their closest friends and family, and are so glad to get to share this moment with everyone! They will exchange a private, more intimate collection of words on their honeymoon in beautiful Bali, where they can get as emotional as they want without embarrassing photos or runny mascara!
Jimmy Jordan is the father of Ryan's close friend, Kerry. While Jimmy has known Ryan his entire life (literally, Ryan and Kerry were in the nursery at the hospital together when they were born), Courtney didn't get to know him until she was introduced to the Milledgeville tailgate crew, the "South Deck Dawgs." Over the years, Jimmy has offered words of advice, encouragement, and wisdom that have helped shape Courtney and Ryan's relationship into one that is meant to last a lifetime.
The petals that are sprinkled down the aisle are from the roses that Ryan gave Courtney the night they got engaged in the Dominican Republic. She flew them home, had to go through some agricultural customs screening to get them into the country, then dried them to be able to use on her wedding day.
Yes! The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are all indoors. As much as rain represents good luck on your wedding day, Courtney is taking NO chances!
We love all of our friend's and family's little people, but we're having an adults-only ceremony and reception (aside from the ring bearer and flower girls at the ceremony.)
Women - In general, it means a dress that is knee-length or longer but not floor-length (unless the material is more casual). It is more formal than a sundress and less risque than something you'd wear to a nightclub. A dressy pants set or jumpsuit are also appropriate. Men - A button-down shirt (with or without a tie), pants, and a blazer or suit coat are sufficient.
