Maid of Honor
at this point in my life, most people know that without christy there is no rachel. we often joke that we are "the same, but different," and many people find it odd the rate of which we speak and laugh at the same time. christy and i met in 5th grade, but became close a few years later after I invited her to go see Wicked in downtown houston. through the years, she has become my travel buddy, my biggest cheerleader, and chosen family. christy has a heart that consistently chases after people and Jesus, leaves nobody feeling unseen, loves deeper than anyone i have ever met, and has the perfect gif for any situation. simply put, christy has changed my life "for good."
Best Man
Jonathan is one of my three best men (yes, I have three, I can do whatever I want). I have known Jonathan since middle school, where we became fast friends due to our love for sports and slightly over-hyped sci-fi movies. While some friendships fade, Jonathan has been there for me through some of the best and most difficult times in my life. He has played a huge factor in the man that I have become, and I cannot thank him enough for the impact that he has had on my life.
Maid of Honor
bridget is one of my longest and most steadfast friends (despite being a longhorn). bridget and imet in 4th grade in a production of "North Pole Star." our friendship has flourished thorughout the many years and many girl scout meetings, new years celebrations, and card games. she is literally one of the smartest people i know, and always has a witty comeback at the ready. bridget is also one of the few people to ever experience me while "camping," and i think that says all you need to know about our friendship since she stuck around!!
Best Man
One of my siblings, one of my best friends, and one of the most unique people that I have ever known. Jackson has grown from a younger brother that tailed my friends and I to a young man that I am consistently impressed by. He does not take life too seriously, but he pursues his goals and is not hesitant to let people know his thought process. His viewpoint on life is something that I do not always understand, but it is something that I admire and am thankful to know.
Bridesmaid
lauren and i met through texas thespians in high school, reconnected through OU's school of drama, and became sisters through our sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta. when lauren was running to be a state theatre officer, i joked to other STO's that I wanted lauren to be my best friend, but i never would have thought that 6 years later she would be such an important part of my life and in making OU feel like home. lauren is kind, thoughtful, and has been there with me through all of the crazy life moments-- giving the best hugs and life advice.
Best Man
The coolest part of being an older sibling is seeing your brothers grow into the people they become. This is one of the biggest blessings of being Brady’s older brother. I have seen him transition from a quiet child to a witty, mature, and gifted young man. While he still finds ways to push my buttons at times, it is an honor to call him both family and a best man.
Bridesmaid
sydney is often lovingly referred to as my lil sis! we met through our high school theatre department and quickly bonded over our shared experience of living overseas! sharing many laughs, desserts, late night rehearsals, and facetime dates, sydney has become one of my best friends that I've been able to watch grow through the years & I'm so proud of! there is also a text to sydney after cooper and i's first date where I call that I would marry cooper one day--and here we are :)
Groomsman
Caleb Adams: aka the man who’s entire text thread is nothing but new music. I met Caleb through BYX, and our affinity for music is what consistently drew us closer to one another. Caleb knows my obsession with Island Party firsthand (Iykyk), and his daily encouragement is something that I am consistently thankful for.
Bridesmaid
ali wine is a true forever froomie! from crying over boys in our freshman dorm, to ali flying out to oklahoma to suprise me at my engagement party, ali has remained a special and treasured friend through the college years and beyond. ali can be credited for many of my trips outside my comfort zone (cookout at 2 am!?), for my obsession with the grilled cheeserie and proper bagel, and for penning the "iconic rachel drinking lemonade" photo pose. ali is the strongest avocate i know, challenges me to think critically and differently, and is always there for a big hug and to share a funny meme!
Groomsman
During the spring of my freshman year, when I was unsure about my future at OU, I met Parker Primrose. Though Parker is involved with just about everything you can imagine, he still manages to make each of his friends feel known, seen, and appreciated. Every person needs a friend like Parker, and I am honored to have him next to me on March 18th. (& no, this parker did not spill the beans on the groupchat-IYKYK)
Bridesmaid
what started as an instagram DM has now turned flourished into a cherished friendship! katy and I met serving on the PRSSA National Committee and quickly turned their online friendship into a real-life one! katy is genuinely one of the most creative and intelligent people I've had the pleasure of knowing, and I constantly look up to her in work, life, and in the church. Some of my favourite moments with katy have been spent laughing over a local coffee, attempting to vlog, and jamming out for Jesus!
Groomsman
I know Ryan Turcotte as my roommate, but many others know him as the life of the party. Ryan brings a lighthearted presence everywhere he goes, and his fandom for the Eagles, Thunder, and Sooners is not hard to notice. The last year of my college experience was definitely one to remember, and Ryan was an extremely important part of that.
Bridesmaid
gabei is one of those friends that you don't remember how they came into your life, but your life has been forever changed because they have. one of my favourite people to jam out with, have a spontaneous dance party, and possibly the only person who understands and shares my addition to high school musical the musical the series, gabei brings so many giggles and so much light to my life! gabei serves others relentlessly, brings passion to all she does, and will always bring the party!
Groomsman
While John and I haven’t known each other for as long as some of my other groomsmen, our friendship has grown extremely quickly. I met John through my fraternity, but we did not become close until I moved into our house during the summer of my senior year. The house was consistently filled with laughter, arguments about sports, and celebrating rare W’s in Fortnite. John makes my life better because he shows me the importance of living life light-heartedly. (also shoutout john for hiding my ring in his room every time i came over!! -rachel)
Bridesmaid
while alexis was orginially cooper's friend first, through public relations courses, double dates and bonding over becoming "real adults," alexis quickly became someone so dear to me! somehow, she managed to listen to me talk about wanting cooper to propose over and over without spilling the beans on his actual proposal plans! alexis is one of the most driven people i know and a friend that you can talk to for hours about anything and everything. I am so thankful for alexis' constant presence in my life and to have her stand with me as I marry cooper!
Groomsman
My oldest friend in our wedding party by a considerable margin, Chase has seen me grow up for over half of my life. We met at age 9, where we played on the same baseball team. We continued to play together on the field, and our friendship continued in the classroom from then on. Though we don’t live in the same city anymore, our friendship proves that true brotherhood is not impacted by distance.
Bridesmaid
jolie radiates pure joy!! i am forever thankful to the OU school of drama for bringing sweet jolie into my life! nobody talks to jolie without feeling incredibly loved. jolie brings friendship full of sunshine, press & plow brunch dates, & party times! she is intentional, thoughtful, loyal, and celebrates the people she loves at all times. i treasure any and all time spent with jolie and i can't wait to party it up with her on the big day!
Groomsman
Chase Borchardt is my little from my fraternity, Beta Upsilon Chi. I met Chase in an economics class during my sophomore year, where he proceeded to save my butt in a class that I (to be generous) didn’t really know a ton about. From then on, our relationship blossomed into on of the truest brotherhoods that I have ever known, and I am honored to have him in my life.
