Question

Do I need to be vaccinated for COVID-19?

Answer

Yes. The CDC recommends that everyone over the age of 5 get the COVID-19 vaccination as soon as possible and that adults 18 years or older should receive a booster shot 5 months after receiving their first set of COVID-19 vaccinations. Highly regarded and trained doctors and scientists all say that the only reason not to be fully vaccinated is if you have had adverse reactions to the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. If you plan to attend the wedding, please help us keep our friends and family safe by maintaining an up to date vaccination status.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Please plan to wear cocktail attire. We are going for a classy springtime vibe. Dresses, button down shirts or blouses with slacks, or summertime suits, are preferred. Please no jeans or flips flops. When selecting shoes, note that the ceremony will be outside on the grass, the reception will be indoors in the main lodge hall, and dancing will be in an outdoor pavilion next to the lodge. The ceremony site and the main lodge are separated by a few flights of stairs.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes. Kids are welcome to attend the ceremony and reception. However, if you have a child who is having a rough day (we have all been there) and is unable to remain quiet during the ceremony, we do ask that you take them up to the outdoor pavilion for the duration of the ceremony.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

A little bit of both. The ceremony will be outside on the grass, the reception will be indoors in the main lodge hall, and dancing will be in an outdoor pavilion next to the lodge.

Question

What will the weather in Lexington, VA be like in April?

Answer

Weather data for the Lexington area indicates that the high for April is typically between 65-85 degrees F and the low is typically between 50-65 degrees F. Fireplaces will be on throughout the reception spaces

Question

If I am flying into the area, do I need to rent a car to get to the venue?

Answer

Question

Can I take photos at the ceremony?

Answer

No. We are planning an unplugged ceremony. We would like all guests to put away any phones, cameras or other electronic devices for the duration of the ceremony and to be fully present with us. Our team of professional photographers will be on site to capture the moment. Anyone who wants access to those photos after the wedding should to reach out to us :) Feel free to break out phones and cameras for the cocktail hour and reception.
