Saint Arnold's - Daytime

On Saturdays, St. Arnolds's opens from 12 pm to 4 pm, with craft beer, food and tours at 1 pm, 2 pm and 3 pm. The brewery was started by Rice Alumni and is one of the largest and best in Texas (and the nation!)

Gatlin's BBQ - Lunch or Dinner

If you come to Texas, you need to have BBQ. (Greg) Gatlin is actually a friend of Clinton and Lindays and has been written up as one of the best BBQ joints in Texas. It's informal and casual -- a great stop!

Cottonwood - Brunch

Cottonwood has an amazing collection of items for brunch and will fill you up before the big event!

Great fun for shopping and indoor fun. They even have an ice skating rink!

Despite the oyster name in the title, a very expansive menu.

El Tiempo Cantina - Washington - Tex Mex

There are a number of these. And if ou go to the one on Richmond, don't be afraid. Yes, it may have previously been a strip club and yes, there may be asbestos in the ceiling, but after just one margarita you won't care anymore.

Rustic venue, with fantastic food, just steps away from the venue!

Museum of Fine Arts, Houston

Who doesn't LOVE dinosaurs! This museum is a great trip and a lovely adventure.

Space Center Houston

It is at least a 1 hour drive to NASA and the line to take the Tram tour (which is 90 minutes) can easily be an hour long, so please plan accordingly.

Yellow Rose Distilling - whiskey tours and tastings

They offer complimentary tours on Friday at 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm and Saturday - every half hour on the half hour from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm

Houston Dairymaids - Cheese tastings!

Rave reviews for this place. The founders went to the same university as Lindsay. They are clearly smarter than her having made a living out of eating cheese! 🧀
