FAQs

If you have any questions, reach out and ask. There is an email at the bottom of the page that is here just for your wedding questions! Yup...I’m going to make you scroll all the way through to get to that email just in case we already answered your question.
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

September 1, 2018, but don’t wait that long! The RSVP tab is above - click it and get your info in! That said, if you already know you can’t make it, also let us know so we won’t keep hassling you to RSVP.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

While your presence in our life is gift enough, we have put together a registry for those of you who are feeling particularly generous. Please see the link above titled "Registry."

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We will start promptly at 5:30 pm, so before then. If you are late, you will miss the bride’s big reveal, so please don’t be late and plan accordingly.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The invitation says “A formal affair” and while it is not black-tie, we are hoping you will dress in “semi-formal” or “formal" attire (i.e., nice dresses / suits and ties). Also, in honour of all our British friends, if you are feeling festive, we are encouraging the wearing of hats and fascinators, similar to what you see at British weddings.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Your invitation will indicate whether you can bring a date. If you have a spouse, I've probably assumed you'll bring them as your date. If you don’t have a normal “plus 1” I probably have assumed that you won’t bring one - I mean, I know this is *THE* wedding event of the year, but we aren’t taking in everyone off the street. Thank you for your understanding and call/email us with questions!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we love your children, we are asking that you reserve the evening as a night for adults only. We don’t start until 5:30 pm and hope it’ll be a late night. However, your little ones are more than welcome at the other weekend events.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! Please see the "Travel" link above.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Valet parking (including tips!) has already been taken care of! Thanks, mom and dad! In addition, we will have a shuttle from our primary hotel — the Courtyard by Marriott Brookhollow. You can also uber. But remember - don’t wait until the last minute on this. If you aren’t there and seated by 5:25 pm, you might be considered late and no one wants to be late....

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Depends on your hotel. We will have a shuttle from our primary hotel, the Courtyard by Marriott at Brookhollow. If this is not your hotel, you can easily uber or lyft to the event. Again, please plan accordingly. If you have been lucky enough to be included in this highly select invitation list, you likely know how important being prompt is to the bride, so...yeah...don’t be late. Thanks!

Question

Who should I contact if we have questions not answered here?

Answer

We have a dedicated wedding email! 2018gmw@gmail.com -- use that and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Question

Are there other events I should put on my calendar to attend?

Answer

Yes! There is no requirement to attend any of these, but we thought it might be fun to have some meet and greets before the wedding. On Friday night we will be having a “Welcome to Texas” happy hour at Cadillac Bar for ALL guests (not just those who aren’t from Texas, or Houston) and on Saturday afternoon we are doing an “I do” BBQ at Karbach Brewery from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm for ALL guests. Both events are very informal and we would love for you to spend time with us. Oh - and if you want to go on the brewery tour (they are going to do private tours for us) wear closed toe shoes!

Question

Am I invited to the Rehearsal Dinner?

Answer

There is not a rehearsal dinner. However, we will be having a very limited invitee Rehearsal and Rehearsal **Breakfast** on Saturday morning. If you are in the wedding party you will receive information on this separately.

Question

Are there other things in Houston to do besides the wedding and all the fun things the bride and groom have already planned?

Answer

Of course! Check out the “Things to Do” tab! Or ask google or Alexa. They are both VERY knowledgeable 😃

Question

What comes with each of the three meat-based meal options?

Answer

Here are more details on the menu: The grilled chicken breast topped with goat cheese, sautéed sun-dried tomatoes, fresh basil and lemon butter sauce comes with whipped mashed potatoes and seasoned green beans with slivers of bell peppers and almonds. The grilled Atlantic salmon with fennel and tarragon white wine cream sauce comes with roasted fingerling potatoes and grilled asparagus. The filet mignon glazed with blue cheese, wrapped in bacon and topped with a port wine mushroom sauce comes with three cheese scalloped potatoes and asparagus with hollandaise sauce.

Question

Wow - those menu options look good! What other food options are there?

Answer

During the cocktail hour there will be appetizers consisting of caprese salad skewers, coconut fried shrimp, southwest egg rolls, scallops wrapped with apple smoked bacon, black angus & blue cheese crostinis, and fruit and cheese. Your salad before dinner will be the Bell Tower's signature salad of spinach, pear slices and other fun items. For dessert, we will have a bride's cake and a groom's cake, as well as a trendy Donut Wall :)
