Chris and I were introduced in February 2017 by our friends, Chloe and Geo. At that time Chris was living in Iowa, and I was in Philly. I was convinced it was pointless to be “introduced” virtually, but agreed to exchange numbers. Text messages transitioned to phone calls, phone calls to 4 hour face time calls, and eventually face time calls to me packing up a POD and driving 22 hours from Philly to Iowa a little over a year later. We spent a year in Iowa, and then moved to Columbus, OH for Chris to become a Buckeye!

During quarantine Chris was working from home for about 9 weeks, and I was still going in to work at the hospital. We’d go for a walk or a bike ride when I'd get home from work to get a breath of fresh air. On May 13, 2020 (our 3 year anniversary from our 1st date), Chris had my nieces send a video asking if we were married. He played it right before walking up the steps to our townhouse from our daily walk. As I turned around to tell him “oohhhhh my three year old nieces are on you about marrying me now”, he was on a knee holding out his hand! (all of it was recorded on our ring doorbell) After I snapped out of being shocked, I said yes (before he finished asking me to marry him) to spending forever with him!!
