JFK, LGA, or ISP Airports

For those flying in from out of town, JFK and LGA are the closest major airports to Greenport. Each airport is about 90 miles from Greenport and approximately a 2-hour drive with no traffic. The closest airport to our wedding venue, Islip (ISP), is 53 miles from Greenport and approximately a 1-hour drive with no traffic. To play it safe, we recommend planning ahead for a 2.5-3 hour trip from the NYC major airports to Greenport. From JFK and LGA, you can get to Greenport via the the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR), Hampton Jitney, or renting a car. JFK offers an immediate connection to the Jamaica LIRR station via the AirTrain right outside the airport, and LGA travelers can take a 10-minute Uber to the Woodside LIRR station. We recommend checking the LIRR train schedule (https://new.mta.info/schedules) and booking tickets ahead of time with the MTA eTix app. For guests interested in using a car service to travel from LGA or JFK to Greenport, we recommend reaching out to Midnight Riders - (516)654-7433 - and booking a reservation in advance.

Long Island Rail Road (LIRR)

This is a great transportation option for those traveling from NYC or arriving without a car from EWR, JFK, or LGA airports. If you fly into EWR, you will have to take the NJ Transit to New York Penn Station and switch over to the LIRR from there. Trains to Greenport leave from Penn Station (in NYC) or Jamaica Station (via the AirTrain from JFK airport) and take a little under 3 hours. Please note you will have to transfer at Ronkonkoma and these trains don't run frequently, so be sure to check the LIRR schedule (https://new.mta.info/schedules). Tickets can be purchased on the MTA eTix app or at the station.

Hampton Jitney

The Hampton Jitney bus is another great way to get to Greenport if you're traveling from the city or arriving without a car from any of the NYC airports. The bus leaves from multiple locations in NYC or Fresh Meadows Queens (about a ~20 minute Uber from JFK and LGA). Tickets should be purchased ahead of time on the Hampton Jitney website: https://www.hamptonjitney.com/booking.

Local Cabs in Greenport

During the winter months, there is no Uber or Lyft in the Greenport area. However, there are a few local cab companies we’ll list below that you can call to schedule local travel or help get you to and from the Greenport train station. If you’d like to book a taxi from the train station to your hotel, we recommend calling ahead of time to book a ride. Classy Cab: Call (631)276-7071 to book local travel and let them know you're with the Sheehan/Teich Co. Wedding. Recommended to reserve a ride in advance. Greenport Taxi: Check out their website - www.greenporttaxi.li - for local travel in Greenport and rides to any of the local/major airports (Islip, LGA, JFK or Newark). You can give them a call at (631)237-7202 to book a ride.

Transport to Wedding Weekend Activities

On Friday night, we will be providing transportation to and from the Welcome Party at Claudio's from the Sound View. On Saturday, we will also be providing transportation to and from the Sound View from the Harbor Front Inn for the wedding. Please see the transportation schedule below (which is subject to change). NOTE: If you're not staying at the Harbor Front Inn or Sound View and would like to use the buses, please plan accordingly and meet at the pick-up locations. Friday Transportation Schedule: 6:30pm - Buses arrives on-site at the Sound View 6:45pm - Buses departs Sound View and head to Claudio's (we will have one bus return to the Sound View and pick up any remaining guests) 9pm - Buses depart from Claudio's for early run back to Sound View 10pm - Buses depart from Claudio's back to Sound View Saturday Transportation Schedule: 3:30pm - Buses arrive on-site at Harbor Front Inn. Passengers may begin boarding buses. 3:40pm - Buses depart Harbor Front Inn and head to Sound View (we will have one bus return to the Harbor Front and pick up any remaining guests) 9:30pm - Run #1 back to Harbor Front Inn 10:30pm - Run #2 back to Harbor Front Inn 11:30pm - Run #3 back to Harbor Front Inn 12:30am - Run #4 back to Harbor Front Inn
