One night, while perusing San Francisco’s most eligible bachelors on a dating app, Claire stumbled upon a photo of a 6-foot-3-inch stud in a Colorado trucker cap. It didn’t take her long to “swipe right” on Lane’s attractive, fun, active, and outdoorsy profile. (For the uninitiated – a swipe to the right is the online dating equivalent of blushing when someone you think is cute walks into a bar 😊) 100 milliseconds later… IT’S A MATCH. You see – several days prior Lane had seen Claire’s profile and was instantly drawn to this tall, auburn-haired, gorgeous, athletic girl who had a horse for a dog (Jameson the Irish Wolfhound), did triathlons and had a smile that made his heart melt. It was love at first swipe. To the surprise of no one who knows her – Claire made the first move – baiting her proverbial hook with a well crafted message that said “Hi! What’s your favorite mountain in Colorado?”. Hook, line and sinker. After exchanging messages, learning of mutual friends and that our Dads both hailed from Kansas, Lane asked Claire out to meetup for a drink. As Claire arrived for the date, she saw the only guy in the place – sitting at the bar – so she plopped down excitedly next to him, flung her hair over her shoulder, and gave that trademark smile. A few minutes later Lane showed up and saw his crush sitting at the bar – talking to the other patron. He walked in, gave Claire a big hug and immediately reached over to introduce himself to the stranger. “Hey – my name’s Lane! Nice to meet you”. After finally meeting the right person at the bar, the two eagerly scooted down to their own seats, and that's when Lane and Claire were able to proceed on what would become the last first date of their lives. One glass of wine turned into two – after which Lane asked Claire if she wanted to get dinner. “My friend Chase is cooking a rack of lamb and said that if you were “cool” to bring you. Any chance you want to go?” Now – we may never know what really sealed the deal… Lane’s good looks and charm or Chase’s rack of lamb… but the events of that Good Friday set in motion a love story unlike any other – and one we are so excited to celebrate with you all on August 5th, 2023… a mere 1,954 days from it’s start back in 2018!
