The capital of Idaho and the city that we call home. Experience all that Boise has to offer, from the lush greenbelt to the excitement of downtown. Before heading to your destination in the mountains, take some time to enjoy the city of trees. For those traveling from out of state, here are some of our top recommendations for the Boise area!
In Ketchum
The wedding weekend will bring you to Sun Valley, an exciting resort town tucked in between mountains in some of Idaho's finest wilderness. Sun Valley, along with Ketchum, Stanley, and the other surrounding areas, all have incredible hiking and sights to experience in the summertime. Make the wedding weekend a vacation to remember!
The Brickyard
Perfect for an intimate evening with great food in a cozy, historic downtown building. Show up at the right time and you will get the chance to have your evening's soundtrack hosted by a live pianist!
Grill at Knob Hill
We had our first dinner date as an engaged couple here! Wonderful service and food in an excellent venue. We recommend getting an outdoor seat if possible. The outdoor area feels like a step into a professional gardener's yard. Strong recommendation for the risotto!
The Hyde House
Charming, farm-to-table restaurant located in Boise's historic North End. Just a short walk away from our home, this restaurant gets frequent visits from us, especially in the summer. Enjoy the outdoor seating and the authenticity of Hyde Park!
Stanley Baking Company & Café
Great sandwiches in the heart of beautiful Stanley, Idaho. If you take the route to Sun Valley that goes through Stanley, this is a must stop for lunch!
Camel's Back Park
A beautiful park in Boise's North End neighborhood that owes its name to the large hill that borders it to the north. Just up the street from the Hyde Park shopping district, Camel's Back Park leads into the extensive trails of the Boise foothills, a treasure of the city. If you are looking for a hike, start early and pick a trail!
Bridal Veil Falls
An 8 mile hike round trip, with a destination of a cascading waterfall where we got engaged! There are two streams you have to cross, so prepare accordingly. The final leg of the journey is a steep scramble up one of the surrounding mountains, but don't worry, you can still experience the waterfall's beauty from the mountain's base.
Press & Pony
Our favorite bar in town. Press and Pony offers an older, authentic feel with the best cocktails in town. If you stop in say hi to Erik for us!
Sawtooth Botanical Garden
A beautiful high-altitude botanical garden showcasing Idaho native plants. We also made a stop here on our engagement weekend!
Explore Downtown
Explore Downtown Boise. From ice cream shops like the Stil to Boise's own wine bar, Bodovino, Boise's downtown has lots to offer. Make your way down to the Grove and experience the plaza fountains! Boise has a small, but lovely downtown to explore.

We would highly recommend this incredible restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing especially their goat cheese flatbread and the wine list goes on and on!
