Travel Note
UPDATE: Please see below for shuttle details from downtown Indianapolis to St. Joan of Arc and back. Info on the 500 Festival and Road Closures: The 500 Festival Parade is the day of our wedding ceremony, and we want to ensure you are informed of street closures and heavy traffic to best plan ahead and arrive safe and on time for our wedding events. The parade starts at noon and is over by 2 p.m. Many Indianapolis city streets will be closed to traffic and public parking in preparation for the parade. Several parking facilities will be open for event parking. Please remember that due to street closings, not all routes into the various parking locations will be available. Here are a few downtown parking and traveling tips: Arrive early and relax during peak exit times. Parking is abundant. There are more than 66,000 parking spaces downtown. Plan where you will park ahead of time. Plan your route ahead of time and carpool if possible. Prepare to park away from the event site. Enter downtown from the side on which you plan to park and park facing the direction you intend to depart. Plan to use a parking garage or lot. Metered parking is limited around special event areas. We will have a shuttle service available the day of the wedding from downtown Indy to the church and back. The bus will be in front of the Hilton Indianapolis Hotel & Suites, 120 W Market St, Indianapolis, IN 46204 (about a 4 minute walk from Columbia Club). Please plan to board at 1:15 p.m. for a departure of 1:30 p.m. If you choose to drive separate or take a ride share, it's about a 12-minute drive (on days when there isn't a parade!). If you decide to drive to the church, do not plan on riding the bus back to the Columbia Club. It will not be available to take people back after the reception.
