Flights into Cancun can be cheaper but please keep in mind the transportation costs and travel time from Cancun to Tulum. Transportation to your hotel should be planned prior to your arrival.

If you decide to pick your own hotel in downtown Tulum: We recommend accommodations in La Veleta close to CALLE 7 SUR (there are many shops, restaurants, and bars). This is new downtown Tulum, very lively, and offers many accommodations including Airbnb's, boutique hotels, etc. When you book, we recommend ensuring you are in walking distance of Calle 7 sur. You should be able to see this via google maps as some owners will say they are in La Veleta but are further away than they claim. If you need assistance regarding this, please feel free to ask directly. Google maps is your friend to see what is around where you are staying!
