We have our Matron of Honor to thank for this one... Chris and Rachel, Cara's dear friend from grade school, were neighbors in a Conshohocken townhome during the height of COVID. After learning that Cara was moving back to Philadelphia from Boston, Rachel quickly nominated herself as Cupid and would not rest until Cara and Chris fell in love. It took longer than anticipated, Rachel almost gave up, but Chris and Cara ultimately ended up admitting they're a perfect pair.
As far as Cara knew...Chris came home early from work for a Manayunk happy hour before heading into the city for a friend's housewarming party. They returned home to bouquets of flowers in the living room, candles lit on the mantel, and their song playing in the background–"Babe" by Styx. (Yes, we know it's a sad song.) Chris brought Cara to the back patio where all the furniture was moved aside and beautiful, colorful flowers took their place. Chris was ready to share the most romantic proposal speech ever written... "Girlfriend, will you marry me?" Shortly after sharing a glass of fine wine with the proposal set-up crew–Chris' brother Will, friend Jack, and Cara's friend Sasha–Chris and Cara were greeted at the Sukonik's house by family. Then...friends from near and far joined the party in waves. It meant so much to be surrounded by SO many people that love us, especially on the Friday of a holiday weekend. We're so excited to have EVERYONE join us to celebrate together in November! Get your dancing shoes ready...because we don't plan to leave the dance floor!
