We met while we were going to school in San Luis Obispo. We both lived in the same apartment complex that was dedicated to students going to Cal Poly and Cuesta College. It was a "rent a room" type of situation where you get paired up with other students you may not know. I lived with 3 other girls and one of them had a boyfriend that lived in the apartment diagonally from us. One night, her boyfriend was over for dinner and I asked him about his roommates and how they got along. Asked him what they did all day and he mentioned that they were just eating dinner and watching a movie, so as a joke, we thought it would be funny if I walked across the way and just walked into their apartment. I walked over with my bowl of cereal for dinner, walked through their door and saw Chris and his roommate, Colton, on the sofa watching A-Team and introduced myself as their neighbor. The rest is history..
After we moved to Washington in August 2022, we were feeling a bit homesick so Christy's family came to visit us for Thanksgiving. We celebrated a beautiful day with her family on Thanksgiving and wanted to show them the opening of the Leavenworth Christmas Market. Leavenworth is styled as an old Bavarian style town so was suppose to be gorgeous during the holidays. We went for our first time altogether and Chris was adamant about walking down to the waterfront park, which lines the Wenatchee River. We walked off the main path to a snowy riverbank and started to take some family pictures, next my mom asked for Chris and I to take couple pictures and when posing for pictures, I asked Chris "are you going to propose??" as a joke and he started to shake and next thing, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I screamed, shouted "Yes, of course!" and we were engaged. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
