Hotel
We have reserved a block of hotel rooms at the Motto by Hilton. It's located in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan and is close to all of our events. **UPDATE 4/4/23** All of the rooms in our hotel block have been booked. However, if you email our wedding coordinator Monique at Monique.Belfon@hilton.com and mention that you are with the Loncarich-Valdez wedding, she can give you the best available rate. If you have a Hilton Honors Number, please include that in your email to Monique. A few other great options for nearby hotels: Four Points by Sheraton Manhattan Chelsea, Renaissance New York Chelsea Hotel, Hyatt Place New York / Chelsea, Hampton Inn Manhattan-Chelsea

New York City has three major airports: Newark (EWR), John F. Kennedy (JFK), and LaGuardia (LGA). We recommend flying into either Newark or JFK. Getting to the Hotel From the Airport: While Uber and Lyft are available from the airport, taking a taxi is a quick and easy way to get to your hotel. Grab your bags, follow the signs to the taxi line, and give them the address to your hotel. They'll quote a set fare for your trip and have a taxi ready for you.

We know the subway may be new to some so here are a few general tips: 1. Google Maps is your friend. Open the app, enter your destination, and click the train icon. Google Maps will give you all of the information you need: directions to the subway station, which subway line to take, which signs to follow once inside the subway station, and the stop where you'll hop off. 2. To enter the station, you'll need a MetroCard. Most stations will have a ticket machine where you can purchase one. Forgo the 'Single Ride' ticket and purchase a new MetroCard ($1) then add funds to it. Fifteen dollars should be plenty for a three-day weekend. 3. Once in the station, follow the signs overhead. The signs will show a line (ex. 'A', 'L', '1') and its destination. In Manhattan, most trains travel north to south. If you're going north, look for signs with a destination north of you or 'Uptown.' If you're going south, look for signs with a destination south of you or 'Downtown." Again, Google Maps will tell you which signs to follow. 4. Stay off the trains between 10pm and 8am. Not because it's unsafe. That's just when Chris performs on the subway.
Travel Note
Uber is readily available in the city. If it's late at night or your feet are tired, Uber is your best option.

Here are some tips for hailing a cab: 1. You can tell if a cab is available by the light on its roof. If the taxi's number is lit up, you're good to go. If it's dark, it may be occupied or off-duty. 2. Stand on a street where traffic is flowing in the same direction you're headed. If you're going uptown, stand on a street that's headed uptown and vice versa. 3. Most cabs should accept cash or credit card.
