It was April 27, 2017, a week before finals at Clarkson University, and Allison decided to attend a party at Delta Upsilon with a few of her sorority sisters (including her Matron of Honor Jodi). It was love at first sight seeing Chris walk into the party. After asking if Chris was single, which he was, Allison met Chris on the back porch of the frat house and then they shotgunned a beer together. Allison left the party that night knowing that she met someone special.

The day after Allison and Chris met, Allison got a Facebook DM from Chris! Chris asked if she was available for lunch. Chris had a sub from Subway and Allison had 3 servings of mac and cheese. After their lunch, Chris walked Allison to her Linear Algebra class. Along their walk, Chris mentioned that his parents were from England, and maybe that was what sealed the deal. Allison loves English Breakfast teas, Coldplay, Mumford & Sons, The 1975, and the Great British Baking Show...it was destiny.

Chris came up with the idea of visiting Allison for a long weekend in July 2017. On July 9th, Allison took Chris to Lava Java (remember this place) in Lavallette, NJ. Chris famously asked "Where are all the lava lamps?" and then Allison helped Chris put two and two together. (Chris did get a lava lamp outlet plug-in for Christmas that year). After sharing breakfast, the time came for Chris to leave and head back to Penfield, NY. Awkwardly, Chris and Allison were standing in front of Allison's house saying their goodbyes. Next, Chris asked, "So, wanna do this relationship thing?" Allison gave Chris a hug and said, "Yes!".

The couple planned to visit Allison's parents for Thanksgiving and Chris brought up the idea of seeing the sunrise on the beach. The suggestion sounded off a couple of alarm bells for Allison. Two things, Chris is not an early riser and he does not like the beach. Because Allison is a Jersey Girl, she'd never say no to a sunrise on the beach. The weather in late November is not ideal, so when they got to the beach it was rainy and foggy. Chris would not stop complaining about the weather! Allison did have some hopes that Chris would propose while they were at the beach but due to his constant nagging to get breakfast, she agreed to leave the beach. After standing up, Chris got on one knee and proposed. Chris nodded to the boardwalk where Allison saw her mom and brother cheering in the background! After a quick photo-op on the beach, they all got breakfast at...Lava Java!
