Our photographer Troy will be shooting the empty ceremony area between 2:30-2:45pm. You can arrive as early as 2:40 to get settled and chat with other guests, but please don't enter the ceremony area until after 2:45. Please be seated in the ceremony area by 2:55pm.
The wedding is loosely old west themed, Feel free to join in and wear your best western wear or any semi-formal attire is welcome! Buena Vista is a mountainous location with inclement weather. We aren't anticipating rain, snow or extreme cold on Oct. 2, but Colorado can surprise you! We recommend bringing a jacket or cover up incase it gets chilly. We will provide some umbrellas just in case, but if you want to be safe you can B.Y.O.Umbrella. The ceremony will take place outdoors, so come prepared with whatever you need to feel comfortable (the reception is inside the barn with heating and AC). FOOTWEAR DISCLOSURE: The ceremony area includes dirt, grass, and wood plank flooring. There will also be yard games in the grass. We recommend shoes that you can comfortably enjoy yourself outside in.
We will have buffet-style serving for dinner and an open bar serving beer, wine, mixed drinks, and signature cocktails as well as NA bevs. All drinks and food are provided, but the bar and caterer do accept cash tips. We recommend bringing along cash if you wish to tip our bartenders or our awesome caterer (Chloe's friend, Lauren, from Up High N Hungry Catering).
Buena Vista is located above 8,000ft elevation. If you're not accustomed to high elevation environments, be aware of potential elevation sickness and the implications of breathing thinner air. Drink lots of water to prevent elevation sickness. Canned oxygen can be purchased online or at many gas stations in mountain towns in Colorado.
Buena Vista is located 2.5 hours from Denver and nearly 3 hours from Denver International Airport. We recommend booking a room in Buena Vista or the surrounding areas if you're not comfortable commuting after the wedding. The event will run from 3pm (ceremony starts) to 10-10:30pm. The commute back to the city is on small mountain highways that can experience inclement weather, road closures, and wildlife. We recommend driving during daylight if possible.
