Ellen and I were set up by my brother George and my sister-in-law Jenna. Ellen has known Jenna's family since the day she was born, with Jenna's parents being her godparents. She knew George long before me and I knew her sister Emily (Jenna's friend since childhood) long before her. We only vaguely knew of each other's existence until Ellen's mom inquired about me and Jenna revealed her plan to set us up. A couple months later, Ellen and I met at Jenna and George's house. Ellen claims she knew that very night what our future would hold. On June 14th of 2019, I asked her "¿Quieres ser mi novia?" and made things official.

Charlie asked me if I wanted to go away to the North Shore for the weekend. I'm not one to say no to a vacation, but I did have my suspicions about his plans for this trip. We stayed at the same place we stayed on our first vacation together in May of 2021, Cove Point Lodge. Minnesota had experienced quite the blizzard and the snow was absolutely beautiful. We went to Gooseberry Falls and walked to Lake Superior. Just as we were turning to head back and I had decided he was definitely NOT going to propose, Charlie got down on one knee and asked me "¿Te casarías conmigo?" Little did I know that he was recording the whole moment! It was the most special day.
