Questions?

The Wedding Website of Shelley Chan and James Turnbull
Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! We'd love your kids to join us, but we ask that you RSVP for them or let us know, so we can take them into account. Note that the ceremony is outdoors, so make sure they are bundled up! We will have some coloring books and crafts available to keep them entertained during the reception.

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

We know everyone is traveling long and far to be with us, and your presence is more than enough. We do however *love* handwritten cards and letters, and would welcome a chance to get notes from our loved ones. We'll have a card box at the ceremony and reception venue! If you absolutely feel strongly, we have a short registry here (https://www.myregistry.com/giftlist/chanbull) but please do not feel obligated!

Question

Can I bring someone not listed on the invite?

Answer

We have worked really hard to create an intimate celebration that includes all of our closest family members and friends. We will specify all guests on your invitation, and if you have any concerns please contact us directly.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the ceremony?

Answer

We have a shuttle from the Malcolm Hotel to the venue for the ceremony, and your times will be assigned (either 2:30pm or 3pm sharp). Please RSVP for shuttle service if you intend to use it so we can get an accurate count! For after the reception, we want you to let loose and get home safe! We have a shuttle beginning after dinner through the end of the reception (9PM - 1AM). There is a parking lot at the venue where you can park overnight at no cost.

Question

Is there an RSVP deadline?

Answer

We ask you let us know if you can celebrate with us by November 12th, 2023.

Question

Do I need a national parks pass?

Answer

You don't need a pass to enter Canmore, but you will need it to enter Banff and surrounding national parks (including if you go skiing). The daily rate can be paid at the gate and is $10.50/person or $21/vehicle. If you will be spending a week or longer visiting the national parks, we recommend the Discovery Pass (unlimited access for a year), which is $75.25/adult or $145.25/vehicle.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding?

Answer

Of course! We'd love you to take as many photos as you wish - the more the better! If you are posting any on social media please use our hashtag #chanbull so we can look back on the amazing memories. Or, use this link to upload: https://my.guestpix.com/Guest/Access/29894/RPTkWkat! Please be mindful of the photographer/videographer during the ceremony. That said, please do your best to be conscious of the photographer and videographer, and stay out of their way and line of sight, especially for the ceremony. We have hired professionals to capture this special moment in our lives and we would hate to have a phone blocking this. We promise to share all of the photos from the ceremony!
