Hello everyone! Due to the uncertain times, we have made the decision to get married sooner. Our ceremony will be at 12pm (noon) on November 7, 2020, at St. Gertrude the Great in Ohio (where the bride and groom are moving to and where they met!). There will be light refreshments after the ceremony. The main reception celebration will remain the same at Knoebels Event Center in Denver, CO on January 2, 2021. Thank you for understanding!
In July of 2019, both Steven and Victoria traveled to the Young Adult Gathering (YAG) just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. Victoria was stressed about studying for the NCLEX (which she took a few days after returning from the YAG) and Steven was home from the Marines, recently joined the Navy, and was working as an EMT. Before the YAG started, some of the attendees decided to go to a target shooting range (for those who know the bride and groom well, how perfect is this setting for them?!), which is where the two met. As soon as Victoria mentioned that she was about to become a nurse and work in the Emergency Department, Victoria and Steven hit it off. And the rest is history :)
On February 19, 2020, Victoria flew into Denver airport to see Steven for a couple of days. Steven had mentioned that he wanted to take her to the Mother Cabrini Shrine in Golden, Colorado and pray the rosary on the walk up the hill. Of course - it is Colorado after all - it was snowing when Victoria's airplane landed. Despite the snow, Steven was adamant about taking her to Mother Cabrini. The two took the snowy trail up to the top the shrine, finished the rosary at the top, and then Steven got down on one knee - said something romantic (neither of the two really remember what he said, it's all a little fuzzy) - and proposed.
