There are lots of things to do in the Yucatan Peninsula. Depending on how long you're staying and what areas you're hoping to see, your options for exploration are almost limitless. The Mayan culture is very prevalent and influential in this area of Mexico. Explore ancient ruins, dive in cenotes (over 3000 exist only in the Yucatan Peninsula from the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs), enjoy the Gulf in the town of Progreso, or towns along the Caribbean. Visit historical Haciendas, or indulge in Merida's local cuisine and nightlife.
