4 - 17 - 17 We first met eyes under the bleachers of the Twighlight meet in Chico CA. It was dark, cold and raining. In preparation for a 5k race, we were huddled under the bleachers to stay dry doing our warmups. Tim was able to track down Jasmine with the race roster. 5 - 7 - 17 Tim came from OIT Oregon to come to see Jasmine at Sonoma State. They went for their first run in Annadel State Park in Santa Rosa, CA. It was a whole 8 miles of adventure running looking for quails. But it was our first of many runs together. 5 - 25 - 17 Facetiming one night as we had done frequently as the staple in long-distance relationships go, we shared our first I love you. 6 - 2 - 17 We met halfway in Redding and spent the afternoon dying in the heat and running the trails. Went to Trader Joe's for lunch and spread a picnic blanket out in a local park. Laying on our backs looking at the sky talking about different altitudes that airplanes fly at, random but impressive in Jasmines' eyes. It was so impressive, it led up to the moment we shared our first kiss. Throughout the years Tim spent hours driving back and forth from Oregon to California to spend every free weekend and holiday with Jasmine and her family, under the statement "He likes driving." Jasmine is truly blessed to have such a dedicated partner. They spent their time on I-5 up and down to see each other when they could. Fortunately, our XC and Track teams raced at many of the same meets so we were fortunate to also have the travel and time spent doing our favorite sport and getting to see and support the other. --- Fast forward --- Tim graduated from OIT in the Fall of 2019 and Jasmine graduated in the Spring of 2020, and got a job in Oregon and their long-distance relationship turned into a normal one. Living in close proximity was bliss and we gave our relationship a new life. Turns out we still liked each other's company in the not-so-rare occasions it used to be. Jasmine started working as a RN at Asante and Tim was a supervisor at UPS. Tim liked Jasmine's schedule and was able to balance work and nursing school. He started a job at Asante in their ICU, neighboring Jasmine's Cardiac ICU unit. 12 - 23 - 23 On our drive down for Christmas, Tim convinced Jasmine to take a little detour to Hedge Creek Falls in Dunsmuir. He set up his camera to take photos like usual, while Jasmine looked for the hand prints they had made years prior. He called her over to take a photo together. While she got in position under the beautiful waterfall, Tim ran over to meet her. But unlike their other timed photos, this time the camera wasn't blinking. Turns out it was a video. In this video, Tim gets down on one knee and asks Jasmine to marry him. The timing was a total surprise, but couldn't be more perfect. Friends and family were waiting to celebrate when we got down in Davis. 4 - 27 - 2023 We bought our first home together and have dived into all the home improvement projects that it has offered. It has definitely brought us closer together. Also, bonus points because we now get to walk to work together. We are looking forward to sharing our space with all the family and friends coming to visit and all the future gatherings we get to share with the space! 5 - 25 - 24 We say I DO! We can't wait to celebrate our journey together and bring together all of the people who helped us get to where we are today. We are truly so blessed.
