We met on the Bumble app which is a swipe app and then the female has to be the one to start the conversation if you match. Talk about out of Rebecca's comfort zone and right up Casey's alley. The funny thing is that we both closed out of the app a few times when we would show up to each other. Finally we both swiped right and matched and I started the conversation. God really knew what he was doing with that whole situation. We could have missed each other, but he must have instilled something in us to close the app so others would show up and not just swipe left. You could say the rest is history.
We were early in our relationship but I had been planning my April Fools joke on my students for a while. So I asked Casey if I could use him in my joke. I knew just enough about Casey to be able to sell the joke to my students. Luckily he agreed. It was awesome! I had bought this fake engagement ring, for like three dollars, and played the joke. My students and co-workers bought into it, except the co-workers that were helping me with the joke. Close to the end of the day I sent an email out saying it was an April Fools joke. I had students who were mad and co-workers who were relieved because they knew the ring was fake. Casey wanted to propose so that I would get my ring back in time to play the April Fools joke again. Which didn't happen. So we almost chose it as our wedding date instead but we loved the Palindrome date too much. It was our backup date though, if 3-25-23 hadn't worked with the venue.
