As of April 19, 2022: COVID-19 tests are no longer required to board your flight. Masks are still required on international flights. KEEP IN MIND: Everyone STILL needs a negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within 24 hours before traveling back to the US or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19. The resort provides onsite testing for $36 (free of charge for guests staying 5+ nights). Tests can be scheduled when you check-in & are performed by their in-house lab teams.
If you test positive & have been staying at Moon Palace for a min. of 5 nights, Moon Palace will cover the cost of quarantine for up to 5 days at no cost to guests, for up to two guests, should both guests test positive. Keep in mind, you will be in quarantine if you get COVID and not freely roaming the resort. If you test positive for a period longer than 5 days, a rate of $199 USD per night will apply for up to 3 guests in the same room. If guests want to isolate themselves but have additional family members that wish to stay, guests can book additional rooms at $199 USD per night for up to four people, in a standard (run of house) room. Guests who have tested positive will be accommodated in a designated COVID area of the resort.
COVID STUFF. Don’t forget masks & vax card for the plane. Masks are no longer required when inside the resort. PASSPORT. Make sure it’s up to date & valid for 6 months after the date you plan to return home. SUNSCREEN/ALOE. The sun is hot. SPF40 should be your minimum. If you forget, the resort gift shop has options. MEDICINE. Don't forget your regular meds! We recommend stomach/nausea medicine as the ride to the airport is a bit twisty. POWER CORDS. Jamaica uses the same electrical outlets as the US. CLOTHING. See below for dress code requirements. It does cool off at night, but jackets aren't needed. Don't forget your wedding attire! The ceremony & reception are both on concrete. REUSABLE CUP. We filled ours with cold brew coffee (the best) & then water/drinks during the day. Room service will deliver you 4 big bottles of electrolyte water whenever you need it. FLOATS. These aren't necessary, but make for a fun beach day! The gift shop sells them incase you decide you want one.
This is not needed, but is a free phone app that allows for secure calls and texts during international travel which can be helpful for communicating when away from the resort's free WiFi. https://www.whatsapp.com/
With the Palace all-inclusive experience, your only responsibility is to enjoy unparalleled service, signature amenities, luxurious accommodations, top-shelf liquors, 24-hour room service, 24-hour gym (with cycling studio), world-class dining, free wifi! We recommend bringing small bills with you. While it is an all-inclusive non-tipping resort, you may feel inclined to tip as all of their services are impeccable. You may also want cash if you leave the resort for taxis or other excursions. Everywhere accepts USD and the resort has an ATM if needed. We chose to tip the beach staff first thing every morning and they kept the drinks flowing all day. Even to the point where you'd wake up from a snooze with a cool beverage in your hand.
Welcome bottle of red wine (it's delicoussss!) Liquor dispenser containing white rum, dark special rum, whiskey and vodka (there's a chance these dispensers won't be stocked because of COVID, but you can make it your first priority to call Room Service and ask them to stock your bar). Minibar with sodas, bottled water, juices, domestic and imported beers (refreshed daily...highly recommend getting your hands on an ice cold Red Stripe). Coffee maker Bathrobe and slippers CHI Bath Amenities (travel sized shampoo and conditioner) + hairdryer and straightener Iron and ironing board iPod dock Smart TV
JERK HUT - Incredible jerk chicken and pork! Located on the beach so an easy spot to grab lunch. They also have coconut drinks on Mondays and Fridays. MOMO - Alyssa's favorite. You can order sushi or get tossed a shrimp from the hibachi table. We recommend calling at 9am to make a dinner reservation for hibachi since space is limited. PIER 8 - This is an open air restaurant with great views offering Jamaican breakfast/lunch/dinner. Mike said this was one of the best steaks he'd ever had. SUNSET DECK - Certified Angus Beef burgers, homemade pizzas, pastas and bevs. This is the BEST place to watch sunset. You'll probably find us there every evening. But if you want to eat...try to get here before 5pm. LA GONDOLA - the fanciest of the restaurants. The menu offers a diverse selection of classic Italian dishes. BOULANGERIE - fresh pastries, crepes, flavored coffees, ice cream and sandwiches 24 hours a day. This place is incredible and you must try everything - especially the coffee.
Basically, you always need to be dry, wearing shoes, a shirt (no tanks for men) and nothing see-through (including bathing suit coverups) when entering any of the indoor restaurants. LA GONDOLA: Men need to wear long pants or shorts, collared shirt or polo shirt. No water shoes or bare feet are allowed. No swimsuits or sleeveless shirts (for men) are allowed. MOMO: Men need to wear long pants or shorts. No water shoes or bare feet are allowed. No swimsuits or sleeveless shirts for men. BUCCANEERS REEF: This place is very casual, but bare feet, swimsuits and wet clothes are not allowed. Men must wear shirts. You can download the resort app for more info.
