Meet Christelle (https://www.christellexu.com/): our dear friend and magnificent photographer who took photos during our courthouse ceremony and will be photographing our June Lake wedding day as well!
There is no specific dress code for Friday evening or Sunday morning. Just keep in mind that temperatures can drop pretty fast once the sun goes down, so bringing an extra layer for the Barbeque might be a good idea.
There are no restrictions on how formal you need to be on Saturday. We and our wedding party will be in dresses and suits (or jackets) with ties, but please feel free to come in whatever you feel comfortable in. Keep an eye on the weather forecast for the weekend, but you should probably be prepared for the afternoon to be warm and sunny (70-80 F, 23-30 C), and the evening to be a bit chillier (55-65 F, 13-18 C). The reception will be indoors, but we would highly recommend bringing a warm layer for the ride back down the chairlift at the end of the night.
The chairlift up to June Mountain will start running at 3pm (more on this below). Shuttles will be available to pick you up from three different locations in June Lake, take you to June Mountain, and drop you off again once you’re ready to head back to your lodging. We will post exact pickup/dropoff locations and times on the website as soon as we have them. We advise against walking along the main road leading to June Mountain, especially at night. There are no sidewalks leading up to the venue and the roads are not well lit. If you prefer to drive yourself rather than arrive by shuttle, you’ll want to head to June Mountain Ski Area. there is plenty of parking at the bottom of the chairlift, and you can leave your car until 10am on Sunday morning.
We know that this might be a bit of a daunting prospect for some of you, but we are confident you’ll love the ride up and down. There are no age or height limits; even our smallest guests can enjoy the chairlift strapped to you with a baby carrier. But please don’t worry, if you absolutely cannot take the lift, the team from the venue will drive you up the mountain in their trucks. Please let us know in advance if you prefer this option so we can give them a rough idea of numbers for the trucks.
Although phone signal can be a bit spotty in the Sierra Nevada mountains, you may find it helpful to be able to use the internet on your phones – and be it just to navigate to find us in June Lake. Roaming is expensive, but if your phone is compatible with E-Sims, Airalo has a bunch of great options available and there are other providers too. If you use the E-Sim option, there’s no need to take out your normal sim, just switch mobile data over to the virtual sim.
