The word "Sangeet" means music! This colorful pre-wedding party celebrates the union and bonding of the couple and both families through a lively night of music, dancing, and food. A dholi (live drummer) will accompany our DJ, and mehndi artists will apply decorative henna designs to those interested! Open bar, as well as Indian and Western catered food will be provided. Bright, vibrant, colorful clothing is encouraged. Guests are welcome to wear Indian or cocktail attire. If you're interested and want to know where to purchase or rent Indian clothing, please feel free to reach out to carlyandocean@gmail.com or check out our Q&A section! We can't wait to welcome you all to our wedding weekend!

"Grah Shanti" translates to Peace of the House. This pre-wedding ceremony ensures that the planets are aligned for the couple to live a happy life together. Lord Ganesh (the remover of obstacles) is invited into the home to bring happiness and prosperity. Pithi (or Haldi) is a turmeric paste that is playfully rubbed onto the bride and groom by their family and friends. All can watch as the couple then runs into the ocean to wash it off! The first half of the ceremony will conclude with the Pithi, followed by a short break, before resuming with the rest of the puja. The bride's side is not required to attend, but those interested are more than welcome to join for any/all portions of the event. Traditional Indian or conservative beach casual attire is recommended. We encourage guests who would like to dress in "turmeric-like" colors of yellows, oranges, and pinks! Food will not be provided. Please plan to take advantage of the all-inclusive options included at the resort!

A "Ketubah" is a Jewish marriage contract. An integral part of a Jewish wedding, the ketubah lists all the details of the wedding, and outlines the rights, responsibilities, and commitments the bridal couple promises to keep throughout their marriage. While the ketubah signing is private, the signed ketubah will be presented under the chuppah (wedding canopy) for all to see during the wedding ceremony. It will forever be displayed in the couple's home as a reminder of their wedding day and dedication to one another.
9:00 am - 10:00 am
A "Baraat" is the groom's procession into the wedding ceremony. It signifies an age-old tradition in which the groom's side would travel together across long distances to the bride-to-be's home for the wedding. In our modern take on this celebration, the groom, riding a white horse, will process with family and friends across the resort property to meet the bride's side at the wedding location on the beach. The music during a baraat sets the mood for the rest of the marriage event, with upbeat and exciting songs blasting as the group dances and celebrates. When the bride and groom's sides meet, they exchange hugs and love. Suggested dress is traditional Indian or cocktail attire. As we are on the beach, shoes are optional! Groom's Side: Please meet at the resort main entrance at 9:00 am. The procession will begin here and make it's way to the mandap. Bride's Side: Please arrive at the beach wedding venue entrance at 9:30 am to join in the celebration and welcome the groom's side!
