Geralyn is the most generous person in the world, and it is hard to compose something that reflects just how special she is. She loves with the depth of G-d, and is one of the two best mamas in the world. She continues to teach Carly the humility involved in personal growth and has an openness for transformation that Carly can only hope to pass on. Her presence & participation on this day makes it holy.
Bruce Lucas
Father of the Bride
Without Bruce, this day would not be nearly as beautiful and sacred. Chavez and Carly could not be more grateful for his dedication and blessing as they grow in love. Even more, Bruce will grace us all with the hamotzi, a Jewish blessing for our holy bread, and prayer of grace for the first meal Carly and Chavez will share as husband and wife with their community.
Margaret Adams
Mother of the Groom
Chavez's mother, a spiritual pillar & matriarch of their family. However, Margaret is more than the mother of the groom. She is the best and most loving mother-in-law Carly could have ever asked for.

Father of the Groom
Chavez's father, whom gives his life meaning and firm grounding. Chavez would not be who he is today without the guidance from his father.
Lindsay Ehrisman
Maid of Honor
Lindsay is the bride's best friend and the groom's favorite person in Madison. Although, "like a sister" is a better way to describe how Carly feels about her. There is no one like Lindsay and her special heart. She is brilliant and one of the most fun people anyone can spend time with. Few have made Carly feel more special as a bride. Lindsay is the type of friend you only hear about in stories, and if you're lucky enough to become one of hers, it's the bond of a lifetime.
Andres Villatoro
Made of Honor
Bride's best friend. Carly and Andres go back as long as Fran the Nanny and Niles the Butler (iykyk). Just kidding! But, it feels like it. Andres has been like family since the two met in Chicago 8 years ago. Andres is the light of all the rooms he steps into and able to bring ease to any situation through witty responses and an appreciation for not taking life too seriously. Despite the jokes and levity, Carly and Andres relationship rests on a bedrock of interfaith dialogue and appreciation for each other's histories and faiths.
Phillip White
Best Man
Chavez & Phillip (better known as Phil) have known each other since high school. A long afterschool session of Smash Bros Melee lead to brothers coming together. From taking apart Xbox 360's to making a joke out of anything, Chavez and Phillip make the best out of any situation.
Darnell Henderson
Best Man
Darnell and Chavez have known each other since high school. They bonded over similar thinking, their dedication to problem-solving, and gaming. Through many adventures and time spent together their relationship cannot be described as anything besides brotherhood.
Alexa Lucas
Bridesmaid
Alexa is the bride's baby sister, but that's where "little" anything ends for her. She's a hero. Alexa just became an MD in emergency room medicine and worked through the pandemic despite the serious personal risks she set aside to care for total strangers. At Alexa's wedding in May 2022, Carly and her were talking during the party. Carly said, "can you believe it, you're a bride." Alexa responded, "now it's your turn," ready to celebrate her sister before her own wedding was over. Selfless is her modus operandi.
Shawana Thomas
Sister of the Groom & Bridesmaid
The Thomas' family one & only sister. Shawana and Chavez talk almost every day. Growing up, Shawana would babysit and unknowingly inspired Chavez's love for education. She is a pillar in the family.
Clyde Thomas Jr.
Groomsman
Chavez's second oldest brother and his first friend and protector. As kids, Clyde and Chavez would spend many hours discovering the world together through secret bike rides miles away from home.
Shayne Sherry
Bridesmaid
Carly's childhood best friend. Shayne has been there for everything, with a heart of gold along the way. She instantly loved Chavez, true to her consistent support for Carly's life and milestones. Feel free to ask for pictures of Carly and Shayne at Carly's Bat Mitzvah. (Photo, senior year)

Bride's brother in heart & diaspora. Carly did not have a big brother until she was 18 and moved into her college dorm rooms, where Sandor, the RA, greeted her and her family. Ever since Sandor has looked out for Carly and is one of the most honest people, Carly knows. He and Chavez became instant friends back in 2017, and we are all pretty sure he likes Chavez better now, which works out alright considering Carly thinks his fiance Racquel is his better half as well.
