Question

Where Will The Ceremony Be Hosted?

Answer

231-09 Merrick Blvd, Laurelton NY 11413

Question

What Is A Nikah?

Answer

The Nikah is a religious Muslim ceremony, that signifies the consent of marriage between the bride and groom of their own free will. It’s a Prophetic tradition and the only permissible way that a man and woman can be married. This ceremony makes the wedding official because in the Islamic tradition it’s not permissible for a couple to be intimate without a Nikah. The Nikah legitimizes the relationship in front of God and it’s when the couple says, “I accept” or “Qubool Hai”. The bride and groom repeat the word “qubool” or "I accept" three times. Then the couple and the two male witnesses sign a contract, according to religious law.

Question

What Should I Wear?

Answer

Guests may dress formally but modestly, preferably in desi/pakistani wear. Men and women should cover their legs and arms and women may be asked to wear a headscarf in the mosque. You can wear any color you like but guests are encouraged to dress up and celebrate with the couple. If the nikah is taking place in a mosque, guests will be asked to remove their shoes out of respect for the holy space.

Question

How Long Will The Event Last?

Answer

3-4 hours.

Question
