We are so excited to celebrate our love story with you!

In September 2015, Carli and Griffin both happened to take weekend trips home to Chicago. Carli came home to celebrate her dad's 50th birthday, and Griffin came home to see the Stanley Cup at a family friend's gathering. Due to exquisite planning (or fate), they were both flying out of O'Hare, with a connection at the DFW airport, to Birmingham. The morning of September 13, Carli woke up in a panic as she nearly missed her flight. After sprinting through the terminal at O'Hare, Carli made it to the gate as they were closing the doors. As she boarded the plane, she noticed a handsome young guy wearing Alabama and Blackhawks gear. When the two landed in Dallas, Carli went to the bathroom and collected herself (the night before had not been kind to her, neither was the 5:45 AM alarm) and found her way to the gate. When she got to the gate, she noticed the same handsome guy that she made eyes with on the Chicago flight. Still buzzing off of liquid courage, Carli started conversation. The two hit it off, noting that they were both Alabama students from Chicago. When it came time to board the plane, fate took over again! Carli and Griffin looked down at their boarding passes, and they were across the aisle from each other. The flight from Dallas to Birmingham was a "puddle jumper" - it was a tight squeeze on the tiny plane. The whole flight home, Carli and Griffin talked and laughed, getting nasty looks from other passengers who were not pleased with chatter at 8 AM. They exchanged numbers and parted ways in Birmingham. Over the years, their paths crossed again several times, but things finally fell into place after Carli's first semester in law school. In December 2017, after some ups and downs, the pair got together for an ice skating date in Millenium Park. The ice skating date turned into a Christkindlmarkt date, which turned into a dinner date, which turned into a night out in Wrigleyville... and the rest is history.
