No kids :( We thought long and hard about this. Unfortunately (or fortunately), our family and friends are very blessed with abundant offspring. Inviting children would mean the party would be overtaken by an army of kiddos... and we're not quite ready for that. Please reach out if we can support your search for childcare in the area (we know California is a fun destination - Disneyland is an hour away)! Kids are welcome at the Friday Welcome Event and Sunday Brunch.
It'll be exactly like My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Just kidding. The ceremony will be 45min long and will contain Greek orthodox ceremonial traditions, such as placing crowns (stefanos) on the Bride and Groom's head, sipping from a common cup of wine, and walking around the alter 3 times. Father Konstantinos has offered to provide some more information on the meanings of each ritual at the event. The ceremony has deep history, though it will be modernized (especially given it's not at the church). If it doesn't sound like your cup of tea - no worries. Feel free to join at cocktail hour.
Yes. Well, kind of! Ceremony will be outdoors, cocktail hour on a patio and reception in a tent. The tent will have vinyl walls and heaters - so it should be comfortable... but obviously that's weather dependent. For the ladies, it will be mostly grass, so plan your shoes accordingly.
Average highs are 83F (28C) and lows are 58F (14C). If we were bold enough to predict good weather, we'd say summer attire for the afternoon and light sweaters/jackets for the evening/night. Pray we didn't jinx ourselves by putting that out there.
