Candace and George met at a refined drinking establishment in downtown Salt Lake City. Candace made the first move... but she insists the story is not that simple. It was late November 2018, when George and Candace found themselves at the same "hot new spot" in downtown SLC ("Button Down" - for our Salt Lake friends). Candace was with her friend Lauren Franz, and they started receiving some unwelcome attention from a gentleman caller. In a moment of instinctual social maneuvering, they spotted two respectful looking guys standing nearby, and approached. The unassuming gents (ignorant to their role as decoys), were George and his friend Matt "Deuce." The four exchanged pleasantries and quickly learned that they had mutual friends in Buck "Indy" Horn, who was the reason they were all at Button Down that night. After more small talk, and successfully deterring the unwanted caller, the group shared a round of shots and parted for the evening. Candace was later given bad intel that George had a girlfriend, so she put any thought other than friendship out of her mind. A week later, Candace and George ended up at the same college football tailgate party, hosted (once again) by their mutual friend, Indy Horn. They hit it off immediately - recalling each other from the weekend prior. Turns out, George was hooked on Candace that day, after he took a sip of the La Croix she was holding (which was, in fact, 85% vodka). Candace thought George was funny, but still believed he had a girlfriend. It was another two weeks later, when the couple found themselves together again at an Indy arranged Christmas Party (Indy hosts a lot of parties). There, it was finally revealed to Candace that George did NOT have a girlfriend. In fact, he had asked Indy THREE times, if Candace was going to be at the party. It didn't take long before the two found each other, danced the night away and exchanged numbers. They went on their first date two days later <3
