Question

What measures are in place to ensure a safe environment given COVID-19?

Answer

Our venue and vendors have made some great changes to keep us all safe as we celebrate! These include: limited capacity aligned with DC regulations, temperature checks as guests arrive, hands-free sanitizer stations throughout the venue, floor-to-ceiling disinfecting prior to the event, additional staff for cleaning throughout the event (they will close the bathrooms for a full cleaning every 1/2 hour and constantly wipe down locations with the highest interaction like door handles, railings, etc.), touchless bathroom appliances, and both a negative test result and masks required for all vendors and staff. If needed, we do have enough space to make the event 100% outdoors. We are also asking that all guests are tested within 72 hours before traveling for the event and recommend that each guest wear a mask. We will also provide masks for all guests in case you wish to swap yours out during the event.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please let us know if you can join us by July 9, 2021. You can RSVP right here on our wedding website under the "RSVP" page!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! The dress code for the wedding is Semi-Formal/Cocktail Attire. This means no jeans! For men, a nice suit and tie is acceptable, no need for a tux. For women, a cocktail dress or formal jumpsuit will be spot-on. When in doubt, err on the side of overdressed to impress! Please note: the ceremony will take place outdoors on the lawn but the reception will be indoors.

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

August in DC is typically hot and humid with average hi-lo temperatures of 87° / 66°. Our short ceremony will take place outdoors but the reception to follow will take place indoors!

Question

Can I bring a date or guest?

Answer

Due to venue capacity, we are unable to host additional guests that did not receive formal invitations. Therefore, our wedding is strictly RSVP only. You RSVP here on the website will indicate your total party size. This is especially important due to the COVID-19 restrictions that DC has in place.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at the venue by 4:30 PM as the ceremony will start promptly.

Question

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Answer

The ceremony and reception are both taking place at St Francis Hall in NE Washington, DC. In between the ceremony and reception, we will host a cocktail hour at the venue as well.

Question

Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Answer

Our wedding theme is "One Love, One Heart," a nod to our Jamaican heritage. So, come ready to enjoy some caribbean-themed fare! We will be serving appetizers at cocktail hour and a full dinner at the reception. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available throughout the festivities.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please be sure to outline any dietary restrictions when you RSVP and we will make every effort to accommodate you.

Question

Is there parking at the wedding venue?

Answer

The wedding venue does have a free parking lot available for our guests. Should the parking lot fill up, there is additional paid parking located directly across the street. Please make the appropriate arrangements for travel if you plan to drink responsibly at our open bar.

Question

Is the wedding venue wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Absolutely! There is a ramp to access the Hall and a dedicated handicapped accessible restroom located on the main floor.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Our official wedding hotel is The Kimpton George! We have secured a hotel block with special pricing for our guests. Please visit the "Travel" page for a direct link to book and more information. Reservations must be made by July 26, 2021 to receive our discounted price. Group Code: WF6

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotel to the ceremony?

Answer

There will be no formal transportation to and from the venue from the Kimpton George Hotel. We recommend splitting an Uber with other guests for the quickest and most cost effective trip to the wedding. DC traffic can be unpredictable so please plan ahead!

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes! We are registered at Zola.com. Visit the "Registry" page right here on our website!

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Our ceremony will be unplugged to allow our professional photographers the best view. However, during the cocktail hour and reception, we encourage guests to post pictures to their social media channels! Our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag: #CamwinForever.

Question

I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?

Answer

Please reach out to our amazing wedding coordinator, Zaakira Harris, with your questions! Her contact information will be made available to you here as we draw nearer to the wedding.
