If you arrive in Germany days before the wedding, we have entered some of our favorite Bavarian sights below.
Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Rothenburg ob der Tauber

Join us for an informal walking tour and no host dinner tentatively scheduled for Friday, Aug. 30, Rothenburg, Germany

Rothenberg is a charming walled city 45 minutes east of Ansbach. Not only is it super accessible, photogenic, and easy to explore, we'd love for you to join us Friday afternoon for a casual walking tour of the city highlights. We'll hit the famous Kathe Wohlfahrt’s Christmas store, walk the enchanting ramparts, stroll the castle gardens, and just soak up the ambiance. At 6 pm, meet us at Hotel Rappen for a no-host dinner in their outdoor biergarten, just outside the city walls.

Nuremberg

Nuremberg

A fun, easy 45-minute train ride away is Nuremberg, Germany

Easily accessible by train, Nuremberg makes a great day trip from Ansbach. The town is famous for its well-preserved historical landmarks, like the imperial castle and the walled Old Town. Stroll through quaint maze of cobblestoned streets in the city’s large pedestrian zone, visit the Hauptmarkt (fresh food market in the main square), and try a currywurst!

Würzburg

Würzburg

If you are looking for a day trip, we recommend, Würzburg, Germany

With a striking castle overlooking the river, Würzburg boasts dozens of churches, and the Residence with exquisite interior (worth the entrance fee) and beautiful and free gardens. Don't miss the opportunity to people-watch on the famous Old Main Bridge. An hour north of Ansbach, the Wurzburg is best accessed by car.
