Located just east of the Country Club Plaza, the Nelson is a fun (and free) place to spend a few hours. Don't miss the famous shuttlecocks on the south lawn!
Head over to the Crossroads district for food and drinks, or to see art galleries and street murals. Go on a pub crawl by visiting the craft breweries located along 18th Street including Casual Animal, Border Brewing, Double Shift, Brewery Imperial, City Barrel, and Torn Label. Head to Parlor at 17th and Locust to grab a bite from one of the unique and tasty food stalls.
A visit to Kansas City isn't complete without sampling some of the city's favorite beer at Boulevard. Go on a tour of the brewery, or just head to the beer hall to grab a flight!
For the historically minded, the National WWI Museum and Memorial is a must. You can also head up in the tower for a bird's eye view of the city.
Check out Crown Center's outdoor ice rink, or head inside to one of the many attractions in the area: Legoland, the Kansas City Aquarium, or the Hallmark visitor's center.
Always a favorite for families with kids, Science City is an interactive science center located in Kansas City's Union Station.

Kansas City is new to public transportation, but we're still really excited about the streetcar that travels along Main Street from Union Station up to the River Market district! The Plaza is an outdoor shopping and entertainment district in the heart of Kansas City. Take some time to wander around and pop into the shops while admiring the architecture inspired by our sister city - Seville, Spain.
Everyone in Kansas City will tell you one BBQ place or another is the best, but Joe's KC is at least the most unique! This small BBQ joint is frequented by Food Network shows and visiting celebrities, partly because it's located in an active gas station. The line usually extends out the door but moves quickly and the food is worth a wait!
The 18th and Vine neighborhood plays host to both the Negro Leagues Baseball museum and the American Jazz Museum. It's fitting to have the baseball museum in the same city where the Kansas City Monarchs played, who were the longest-running franchise in the history of baseball's Negro Leagues! Fun fact, this was the first professional baseball team that Jackie Robinson signed with.
Located right next to the Negro Leagues museum, the Jazz museum hosts exhibits on Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald and other legends.
