Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

25 Evans Way, Boston, MA 02115

A museum that is unique to Boston and a favorite of ours! Isabella Stewart Gardner (1840 – 1924) was a leading American art collector, philanthropist, and patron of the arts. Her surprising appearance at a 1912 Boston Symphony Orchestra concert wearing a white headband emblazoned with "Oh, you Red Sox" was reported at the time to have "almost caused a panic", and still remains in Boston one of the most talked about of her eccentricities. Thursdays: 11am–9pm; Fridays: 11 am–5 pm; Saturdays and Sundays: 10 am–5 pm; Mondays: 11 am–5 pm. Adults: $20; Children under age 18: Free.

The MIT Museum is great for those interested in science and technology. This is located across the Charles River in Cambridge but accessible by the "T" on the red line. Open daily: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm; Adults: $18

"View" Boston

This recently opened space at the top of the Prudential Tower, which is one of the tallest buildings in Boston. Visitors can enjoy a fabulous view of the city and stop in at the bistro for a cocktail. Tickets range from $30-$60. Open 10 am to 10 pm.

Mapparium

210 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, MA 02115

The three-story Mapparium globe—one of Boston's most well known landmarks—shows the world at one moment in time—1935. A short narration lets you consider the world before World War II from an entirely different perspective—from the inside of the world looking out. The Mapparium requires a timed ticket and paid admission – adults $6, youth 0-17 free. Tours tend to be available every 20 minutes starting at 10:20 am.
