Things To Do

Below you'll find some of our favorite spots and sites. Lots of new businesses pop up in Marfa on a regular basis, so we encourage you to explore.

Great coffee and great breakfast toast menu

The Marfa Spirit co.

A good lunch and dinner spot with vegan-friendly options. Para Ilvar also has a small bodega attached to the cafe.

Planet Marfa

Planet Marfa is a dive bar with very interesting hang-out spots inside. Check it out for some beer, live music, and interesting decor.

The Capri

The Capri is a luxury cocktail bar we highly recommend for the atmosphere and fantastic mezcal.

Hotel Saint George Pool

Hotel Saint George has a great pool if it's warm enough to swim during the day. It is paid access to non-guests and comes with great pool-side drinks and menu.

El Cosmico

802 South Highland Avenue, Marfa, TX 79843
, (432) 729-1950

El Cosmico is quintessentially Marfa. It's technically a hotel made up of airstreams, but often has events going on in the courtyard and comes with a drool-worthy gift shop.

The Chinati Foundation

1 Cavalry Row, Marfa, TX 79843
, (432) 729-4362

The Chinati Foundation is one of the original foundations that put Marfa on the map as an artist community. The foundation itself is worth visiting, and the museum visitor center will have up-to-date information about other exhibits around town.

This is the location of our Welcome Party.

Marfa Lights Viewing Area

US-90, Marfa, TX 79843

View the website for more history behind these mysterious lights. For the exact location, search "Marfa Mystery Lights" on your maps app once you arrive in Marfa and the viewing area will show up a few miles outside of town. (Car suggested for this activity).

The Get Go

208 South Dean Street, Marfa, TX 79843
, (432) 729-3335

A small, bodega-style grocery store that is walkable from most places in town. It has snacks, wine, cheese, and some groceries for meals. There is a larger grocery store on the edge of town called Porter's.

LaVenture at Hotel Saint George

105 South Highland Avenue, Marfa, TX 79843
, (432) 729-3701

LaVenture at Hotel Saint George has great bar food and delicious drinks. There are some spots in Marfa that may run out of food on busy weekends, LaVenture is reliable if you're running into trouble!

Presidio County Courthouse

300 Highland Street, Marfa, TX 79843

This is a good place to start if you'd like to walk around downtown Marfa. Walk down the main street and side streets to find lots of local shops that are independently owned. We're into supporting local artists and business owners, so take a minute to check them out if you can!
