Once Caleb sets his sights on something, his passion and focus are unmatched. Though he’s selective about what piques his interest, when something captures his attention, he immerses himself fully. His dedication knows no bounds, and he won’t stop until he masters whatever he sets his mind to, conquering every challenge along the way. As a partner, Caleb is incredibly considerate, nurturing Lauren in a way that she likens to a gardener tending to a plant—always making sure she’s in bloom. He pampers her, cares for her, and provides for her in every way. To be loved by Caleb is to be truly known, and he knows Lauren better than anyone else in the world, loving her unconditionally through the good, the bad, and everything in between. He’s shown her what love is supposed to be, and he’s taught her more about what she wants and needs in a partner than she could have ever imagined. Whether she’s rescuing a furry friend, diving into a good show, or designing inviting spaces, Lauren pours her heart into everything she does. Though she enjoys water sports, adventures, and traveling, her happiest moments are cozy nights in, surrounded by love. Family is at the center of Lauren’s world, especially her grandma, her closest confidante and best friend. Their bond is filled with shared books, endless laughter, and conversations that make even ordinary moments special. Her beloved pets are just as much family, and her home is a haven for her loyal dog Bella and her cats. Lauren’s life is a blend of passion, curiosity, and heart. She loves anthropology, puzzles, and exploring new cultures, but also treasures life’s simple joys—perfectly cooked potatoes, sushi nights, and quiet moments with Caleb. Maid of Honor

Loyal, compassionate, and wise, Gabby has been Lauren’s longest and most trusted friend. They met the summer before freshman year in summer PE, where they bonded over their shared love of ketchup and avoiding sweat between classes. A synchronized swimming routine sealed their friendship, making them inseparable. Gabby has deeply shaped Lauren’s life. More than a best friend, she’s been a source of growth, love, and understanding. Lauren often reflects on how Gabby’s friendship has taught her to be a better person and friend in ways that few can. Gabby has known Caleb even longer than Lauren, as they attended the same elementary school. With her boyfriend Josh and Caleb also close friends, the four of them share a special bond and often travel together. Gabby has witnessed Lauren and Caleb grow individually and as a couple, making her presence at the wedding deeply meaningful. Known for always having ketchup on hand, Gabby’s quirky obsession is a wedding trip highlight—ask her at any moment, and she’ll have it! Beyond her love for condiments, Gabby has been the heart and soul of helping Lauren’s wedding dreams come true, tending to every detail along the way. Since Lauren’s move to Florida, she’s missed Gabby dearly and is most excited to have her best friend by her side on this special day, celebrating their connection and memories.

Scott Degitz-Fries

Father of the Groom

Scott is a vivacious and charismatic presence in every part of his life. As a math teacher, he’s involved in much more than just the classroom, actively participating in various school activities. Outside of school, Scott leads the praise team at his church, where he also sings, and his talents extend to modeling and acting. He has appeared in several local theater productions, commercials, movies, and shows, showcasing his love for the arts and his versatility. In addition to his professional and creative pursuits, Scott loves to travel with his husband and family, and we’ve been fortunate to share many wonderful moments together. Having taught both Caleb and Lauren in high school, he’s quite literally watched them both grow up. In fact, Scott was the one Caleb called in tears when Lauren broke up with him in eighth grade after just two days of dating (the first and last girl Caleb ever cried over!). Thankfully, they found their way back to each other in high school. We love Scott dearly and are so happy to have him by our side as we celebrate this special day.

Deanna King

Mother of the Groom

Deanna is unapologetically herself—whether she’s being silly, loud, self-conscious, or generous, she wears her heart on her sleeve and embraces every aspect of who she is. She’s been a second mother to the bride, even taking her in during high school and offering healing love and support. Deanna’s relationship with Caleb is uniquely special—they are thick as thieves, sharing a close bond that is undeniable. Beyond her role as a mother, Deanna is one of Lauren’s closest people. They talk almost every day—whether it’s on her way to work, during her break, or after work, often jokingly when Deanna goes to take a “Lauren” (as she calls going to the bathroom). Lauren deeply values their bond and knows she would do anything for Deanna. Deanna is the most generous person Lauren knows, giving freely her love, laughter, joy, and spirit. Her heart overflows with abundance, and her generosity knows no bounds.
