Christine & Bruce

Christine and Bruce met at Willowbrook High School in Villa Park, IL. They were part of a small group who did geeky things like math, science, and astronomy. Christine went to U of Illinois, then to CA to work on one of the first supercomputers. Bruce went to UChicago and Cornell to study geology (and ancient Egyptian). They kept in touch over the years. But the magic didn’t really happen until much later, when a common friend asked Christine to contact Bruce about their 50th high school reunion. Christine had been living in NYC for 35 years, gotten married and had children. Bruce had moved to CO and remediated hazardous wastes for the Denver Regional Transportation District. Bruce did not attend the reunion, but Christine took a cross country road trip with her daughter Sophie. On that trip, Christine and Sophie could tolerate each other’s company for five weeks; and Christine saw Bruce in Denver for the first time in over 30 years. It worked out from there, and the rest is history.
