The American Bison was reintroduced to this 4,000+ acre prairie in restoration. This is one of the places that makes Ogle County and Rock River country special. Great opportunities for bison viewing if you can catch them. This is like visiting Illinois 200-300 years ago when the buffalo and native prairie coexisted. Very cool, highly recommend.

This picturesque park has 2,000 acres with river access, trails, rock formations, bluffs, and a beautiful scenic overlook. A great place for a quick hike up the scenic overlook, although not for the faint of heart, the climb is worth this vista. As well as those looking for adventure, the park offers 6 miles of trail in various terrain.
